It's time to open up the books and create additional cap space and finally have a legitimate free agent spending period. Highly unlikely, but this what I would do.

Free Agency

In-House Resignings: Parsons, Osa, Golston, Lewis, Lawson, Trey Lance, Turpin (R), Bell (R) Virgil
Key Departures: DLaw, Kendricks, Dowdle, Cooks, Martin (Retired), Rush, Donovan Wilson cut
Free Agency-Diggs WR, Beachum T, Hernandez G, Foreman RB, Slayton NT, Bolton LB, Melifonwu CB/S

Draft (1st 3 rd's no simulation)

1-Walker Nolen DT (Harmon as an alternate)
2-Omarion Hampton RB (Johnson)
3-Carson Schwesinger LB (may or may not be there)

Depth Chart

QB-Dak, Lance
RB-Hampton, Foreman
WR, Lamb, Diggs, Tolbert
LT-Guyton, Richards
LG-Tyler, Bass
C-Beebe, Hoffman
RG-Hernandez, Thomas
RT-Steele, Beachum (swing)
TE-Ferguson, Schoon

LE-Kneeland, Golston, Lawson
RE-Parsons, Sam Williams
3T-Osa, Nolen (both play in the nickel)
1T, Slayton, Mazi
Mike-Bolton
Will-Schwesinger
Sam-Marist
CB-Diggs, Bland, Lewis (Melifonwu fills in early on and then moves to Safety)
S-Hooker, Melifonwu, (two free safeties in Eberflus cover 2 scheme)

I'd make a few tweaks, but overall not bad at all. Honestly this is the type of FA moves we should expect out of Jerry even though its unlikely to happen. Diggs could be a bargain coming off of injury at his age. Your other big FAs are not at positions that will break the bank. I think we would all be pretty happy with that draft too.

Outside of Bolton, there are really mid-level type of signings, but not those bottom tier guys that we usually bring in.

Pretty good overall…just a little too much faith in the Diggs brothers to be healthy and productive for my liking.

Slaton actually graded out worse than Smith. Don't know if that would be an upgrade. Plus Mazi still has room for improvement

I wonder if they will try to trade back depending on the board like they did with Parsons and Guyton.

Bolton is my #1 priority and will need to get done before FA when we can talk to FA’s. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Wash steal him away…..

Rather find a short-term fix and focus on the front 7 for the draft.
That’s fine, but if you’re going to spend $ on a WR I’d prefer it to not be a guy that will turn 32 coming off an ACL tear.
And while I’m all for signing Melifonwu to play S, I don’t think he’s good enough to play outside boundary CB full time for multiple weeks.

I would be pleasantly shocked if the Joneses would pay a 1/4 of the salaries to make your scenario happen. That’s some big signing bonuses especially if you include Parsons.

Beachum and Hernandez would be good additions. I don't think Arizona lets them get away though.
Hopefully, Clayton Adams can convince them to follow him to Dallas.

I don't see us re-signing Lance instead of Rush. Otherwise, I don't see anything outlandish. I think a few of the free agents will likely be out of our range.

DT Sheldon Rankins just got cut by the Bengals, he might be a good add. CB Kendall Fuller got cut by the Dolphins. Players that get cut by their teams and are then signed in FA, don't count towards the comp pick formula.

Dallas loves comp picks, so these types of players will be a priority for them. I wouldn't mind either one of these guys as cheap 1 year stopgaps.

Rankings is a former jet who probably played under our new dl coach

I was trying to fill two spots for the price of one. Safety is going to be a big need in 2026
