One of the perks of this disastrous season (besides finally getting rid of Wade) is we will get to draft an impact player. I'd be happy with any of these results.

Just taking the mocks for face value (without factoring in who else might be available), I would take any one of those combinations above.

I'm partial to DraftTek simply because of the Peterson pick but Walter's and fanspot is a close second.

Yea we arent taking a friggen DE.

drafttek has the winner but we should be closer to 10 then the #3 pick where Peterson will go.

They had us getting Peterson with the 8th pick.

DE is both a need for us (Spears, Bowen Hatcher all Free Agents) and a strength in this draft. I wouldn't be shocked if we go DE.

Something tells me we should be rooting for Peterson to pull a hammy during his pro-day and maybe a little weed bust.

No way to DE, sign a few of those guys and get yourself a clue chip OL/DB.

Sure you can sign a Mankins or Jonathan Joeseph, but just one of them and thatll still leave the other spot studless.

    LMFAO @ weed bust.

I agree though, theres a lot of DE's in free agency. Corner in the first without a doubt. I'd love Joseph. No way Cincy lets him go though.

:laugh1: At the people who dont think they need help on the D Line. They are 28th in defense right now, and that is not all on the secondary.

Why be dramatic? We are talking about our once in a decade top 10 pick where we can get a stud.

Whos the best 3-4 DE in the league? Seymour? Would you rather have him in his prime or Ed Reed in his prime? Or Steve Hutchinson?

:laugh1: at all the people who can't read.

Who said they don't need help on the d-line? Can you quote me on that?

I said I'd rather address a DE in FREE AGENCY, since there are A LOT of 3-4 DE'S IN FREE AGENCY, then in the DRAFT. Theres ONE quality free agent corner.

Therefore, DB takes priority in the draft.

    Harris/Peterson/Prince > Dareus/Bowers/Fairley.

DE in FA. Mankins in FA. Look real hard in FA for a FS; if not look hard at the first 2 rds for one. We need to get one more O line guy early and hopefully a ILB or CB early as well. We need to get in this offseason:

    1 Guard to start
    1 guard to develope
    1 Tackle to develope
Then carefully look at Costa, Bright and Young.

We need an ILB that can spell James and eventually replace him. Lee will replace Brookings. Also a nickle LB.

We need both a SS and a FS- probably need to get one in FA.

    Are those the choices?

What about would you rather have Seymour or Marc Columbo or Reggie Nelson?

Nothing is a sure shot, and who is to say Seymour, Ed Reed and Steve Hutchinson are in this draft? And all three of them are in just the top 10 picks?

I don't really believe in spending a first on a 3-4 DE either unless we're talking about absolute top teir talent. Maybe Fairley is that and maybe he isn't, but you don't just take a safety or lineman there because those are your needs.

Dallas needs a true NT for 3-4 and move Rat to DE where he
belongs. DE is not a need.

    Poppycock.

You arent taking a crap OL or DB, if youre picking top 10 you expect to get a stud.

This feels like the Jared Odrick thing from last year. Some people wanted to get that JAG and we ended up w/ a playmaker.

We definitely need a playmaker on D and some more dependable linemen. You can even bring back 2 of the 3 FA DE's and then bring in a DE later. W/ an improved secondary you wouldnt notice

    Patrick Peterson?

I also like Brandon Harris a lot. More than Akumara.
