Then offer him more money and give him the title of Asst HC. That makes more sense. Heck, if he did a good job in Dallas, he might be the HC here next year.

I dont dispute his track record. And I dont dispute his knowledge or how sound the Tampa 2 defense is.

My problem is we cant think outside the box and uncover a gem defensive guy who is currently an assistant elsewhere. Do we not have the resources to find a young, talented, dynamic, intelligent defensive mind that isnt quite ready to be a head coach someplace? We need to bring in a 72 year old guy and hope he still has the fire and drive to work 16 hour days and can relate to people 45-50 years younger than him?

    This makes ZERO sense.

He can't leave unless he's not under contract

Even with the 12 million, you still have the 5 million in penalty we are in for. Even if Miles re-negotiates and we shake the 5 million, we still would have to account for 24 Million more and come up with the additional cash to sign the other 8 or 10 players and practice squad and all the rest. I don't see it.

The only dead money in 2013 is Terence Newman's $2 million dollars. He said it in the original thread. The rest of the dead money is coming off.

The $24 million is including the $5 million penalty. Re-negotiate Miles, Tony, and Carr.

Adam's on record, recently, saying the cap won't be a problem for us this offseason. FWIW.

You also commented on the CBs, which clearly, is what I was talking about. As far as the great safeties in Chicago, well, did you see a great defense in Chicago at the end of the season? If we don't turn the ball over 6 times, do you see Chicago as all that great of a defense against us?

:laugh2: the Cowboys have been drafting DBs in the 1st round for years. And it's gotten them nowhere.

:laugh2: at Monte Kiffin rumor. He turns 73 in a few weeks. Hiring him as DC would be classic. It's like Jerry Jones finds the most idiotic moves he can make and pursues them with laser-focused efficiency.

That's why I don't believe he'll be the DC. Too old.
