OXNARD, Calif. — Dallas Cowboys special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis had trouble staying focused on Chad Jones whenever he watched video this spring of the playmaking LSU safety.
“We were looking at him because he was in the mix of possible draft choices, and this other guy, No. 44, kept showing up, making a lot of plays on special teams,” DeCamillis said. “He was in on a lot of tackles. He was a good blocker.”

No. 44 was Danny McCray, Jones' backup.

Love this kid and love his number!

I'm not opposed to giving Joe D the HC job either after Wade hangs it up, I think he would be better overall HC then Garrett.

Am curious why you think he'd be a better HC. Admittedly don't know much about his background. Also, given his health concerns, doubt he would have the endurance the HC job would requir. I know I know, ST coach is also very demanding job, etc.

I hear you. I don't know why, but I feel like he should be starting at safety for us. Maybe I'm crazy.

Can't recall anyone else nominating Joe D for HC before, but you may be onto something. He certainly has a passion for coaching!

I think the team responds to him. I'm not just talking about the cussing and yelling either. Coaching is about getting the best out of your players and he has proven that. I haven't heard one player say anything but positive things about him. I'm not sure the players feel the same way about Garrett. They seem to not trust him for some reason.
