there is no way nick fairley drops that far. I would be extremely surprised if Prince were taken that early.

Stranger things have happened! There were reports that Fairley could see a slide on draft day.

If Fairley is there we better not get cute and just take him.

Wilson is a bit of an interesting pick

Martez Wilson is a home-grown talent from Chicago playing for the University of Illinois. This Fighting Illini has all the measurables on paper that scouts dream of. Wilson is listed at 6'4 and 250 pounds; he also runs a sub-4.6 40 yard dash (which is rare at the inside linebacker position), but he also may move to outside linebacker at the next level.

If Fairley is on the board and we trade down, I'm gonna be SO pissed off.

It passes the Hynoski test, so I will ignore the Fairley snub.

If fairley is on the board at 9 jerry would be the stupidest gm in the world to trade back, jason would be the stupidest caoch in the world for not forcing jerry to pick Fairley at all costs, and rob ryan would be the stupidest dc in the world for not forcing jason at all costs to force jerry at all costs to pick him. Ok I'm done.

I just don't think Fairley fits what we do on defense. Where would he play? He's never played DE in a 3-4 and I guarantee he wouldn't be an elite player at that position. I'd rather trade down, pick up an extra 2nd and go from there.

If he is playing DL he will wreak havoc period. I watched a lot of Auburn games and Dominance like that does not come around very often. He is the best player in the draft IMO.

Yes, in a Auburn 4-3 Defense were he can focus more on rushing the passer. Unlike in a 3-4 He has a Gap Assignment and more of a job to Hold blocks and when he can rush the passer.

Agree to disagree. My opinion still stands. Rob Ryan would find a way to use him. He is not all pass rush either. His run stopping abilities are out of this world. And ss a team weak in the trenches last year he's an elite talent with such intensity and motor that I would never pass up on him regardless of scheme. He isn't going to make it to 9 anyways so I should stop drooling over him.

    You guarantee huh? :laugh2:

There are plenty of 3-4 players in the NFL that didn't play 3-4 in college, by the way.
