Chuckle... I have my doubts that you'll find too many Oprah fans on any football message board...

Goodie goodie goodie, is Eckhart Tolle going to be teaching about how to think happy thoughts? On second thought, there are a few people here who could use that. :D

    Oh, dear...

I'm afraid that your man card is in serious jeopardy, ol' buddy... to save it, you'll have to immediately drink a 12 pack of beer, then cut a sloppy beer fart, hopefully in the presence of 10 or more people... for safety's sake, you might want to think about launching at least a half dozen manly belches... you know, Booger Dawson belches...

There used to be other ways of redeeming yourself, but nowadays they call them sexual harassment... life used to be so much easier...

    :D

I totally respect the plight of Oprah, but she has to be the MOST ANNOYING person on this EARTH. Also, my GF couldn't get a Fletcher's corndog at the fair last year because Oprah was getting one, which caused a massive crowd. Stupid Oprah!

I think I've seen three Oprah shows ever. However, one of them was the show where she hosted a bunch of top white supremecists and American nazis. She handled herself very well, was really impressive in keeping her cool with a group of people who, in reality, would as happily shoot her as look at her. Much respect.

Not as enthused with her book club stuff, as she doesn't seem to have a handle on the 'good writing' vs 'interesting to me' thing. Loads of ephemeral fluff get huge sales through being mentioned on her show.

:laugh1: Hey, I guess I mean her shows are sometimes mildly entertaining. You have to respect some things about her even if you don't like her. So I guess I'm saying I don't love her, but I do like her.

Just curious, have you ever watched an Opera show?

Have you ever read A Million Little Pieces? Even if it was fiction, it was fabulously written from a stylistic standpoint. Even she condemned that book and the author who claimed it was real when it wasn't. But from a fiction standpoint, it's still a good book. And it has an interesting dynamic because the author did try to pass it off as a biography when it's not. Just wanted to say, that is a good book.

Other than that, I've never read an Opera Book Club book.
