Let's go, better competition.
any word on jj wilcox I heard he isn't on the practice field.
Per tweets it's personal.
This is great news. We need to know if we have a swing tackle before the season starts. Hopefully one of these guys can do the job.
LOL, I forgot that these 2 were on Dallas....
Good we need Parnell out there getting reps. Can't believe how much time he has missed this camp
He's out for personal reasons I think. His mother is ill.
These guys might get cut once some tackles become available
I doubt it with Parnell, and I'm not counting out Bell, either. He was a pretty good player for Buffalo before going to Philly and being taught to block differently.
Parnell has been the only backup OT for the last 2 years. He almost surpassed Free at RT last season. His only problem in training camp is that he tried to practice with a bad hamstring but couldn't and had to sit out for awhile.
Haven't given up on Parnell yet. Still think he can press Free. I'd love to have some real depth at T though. We've been lucky so far. I agree with @xwalker.
I'm happy to have Parnell back. I was hoping for a big leap in his play this year and was hoping he could really push Free.
The point may be moot if Free is back to his 2009/10 form when he was a pretty good LT and RT, probably top 10 in the league overall. That's what made him a hot commodity and got him a $8M/yr contract with 3 teams bidding for him (Us, Philly, TB). He was once a really good OL who lost "it" for no obvious reason in 2011. If Free plays to his potential then we have the bookends we were envisioning when we drafted Tyron and signed Free to that 4-year deal in 2011.
I made a quick trip to camp this weekend and saw Parnell running drills today. He was hobbled pretty badly.
This. My faith in Parnell is zippo.
didn't jj's mom pass away?
Is anyone still talking about cutting Free and making Parnell the starting RT?
give Free time; he will probably give us reasons again
