Early on Friday it looked like Miles Austin would miss his fourth straight game thanks to a hamstring injury and that came to fruition when the Cowboys ruled him out for their game with the Cardinals on Friday afternoon.

Austin is making progress toward returning, however, and said that he plans to be in the lineup for the Week 14 showdown with the Giants. Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas reports that Austin, who has missed six games altogether this year, wants to be as sure as possible that he won’t do further damage when he gets on the field.

take your time miles. Heck andre johnson missed like 6 games didn't he with a hamstring injury. We are going to need Miles in a shootout with the giants and eagles later this season.

Fine by me. Want him 100% for the stretch and if he doesn't feel hes there, waiting another week don't kill him.

I don't mind if he misses AZ, but he MUST return to full practice for Giants week. The last thing we need is for any WR to come into the Ginats game cold, without practice, and basically take snaps away from other WRs who have been playing well. Nothing can kill the chemistry faster than that.

The Cowboys have dealt with numerous injuries this year:

Romo fought through his broken ribs and didn't miss any time.
Laurent Robinson filled in nicely for Austin.
    Murray shined in Felix's absence.

Unfortunately, no one stepped up for the CBs while they were injured.
