I don't see why they have to be compered. They were both great qb's that any team ever would have loved to have leading their team. Both are all time greats and were a joy to watch.

Not controversial or confrontational enough, ... off with his head!

Aikman. Young only wins one SB and he doesn't get there without Sanders.
Without that SB Young doesn't make it to
    the HOF.

In 1963, the WVU kicker, Chuck Kinder, wore number 100 because it was West Virginia's Centennial year as a state.

The question asked is who wore the number better. One of them wore it for the Cowboys, the other for the Whiners. Fashion sense alone dictates this answer. Red and gold have never looked better than blue and silver.

I believe Young retired as the highest rated passer in NFL history. As much as I hate the Niners, I think he was certainly more than a "good QB". Like I said earlier, they were both great but had different styles, strengths, and weaknesses.

Steve was a better QB than he is on TV commentary.

That great team lost to us 2 straight (NFC title) years. If not for Brain fart in 1st quarter of third NFC title game. They are never called great.

I have said it before and will say it again. A JJ led/prepared team NEVER loses that game.

I remember that game well. I was shell shocked with that first 5 minutes, we opened the game down I forget how much, came back twice and still lost. I dont know what happened to this day. That first five minutes just baffle me. The weather sucked but we still played well after that on the same crappy field. Man, thats a game to forget and I cant. We were so close to 4 in a row. Oh it kills me. Still 3 beats 1 every day of the week.I still hate Montana way more than I ever hated Young, even after that game. And still hate Montana and the Catch with a passion.

We went in thinking it was going to be pitch and catch. The 49ers were aggressive. We had no edge.

We showed our mettle (remnants from JJ) in our comeback. But the lead was too much.

FYI I believe we spotted them 21 points in first 12 minutes of the game.

Still can't believe that crap happened.

I liked Steve Young when he was with the LA Express and he was an exciting QB but this one isn't even close to me.

Aikman joined a team that was at the bottom of the heap. Young inherited a team that was at or near the top.

Aikman took his team to the promised land and won three times. Not alone. He needed a great team around him and a great head coach.

Young took his team to the promised land once, but like Aikman had a great team around him and a solid head coach.

Why couldn't Young get to the SB more?

    One answer is the Cowboys.

So when there are comparisons, usually it's like Emmitt versus Barry. And neither really played head's up very often.

In this case these two men played against each other in both league standings and head to head.

Did Aikman have the better team? Absolutely.

But was Aikman one of the main reasons he had a better team?

    Without question!

This isn't about who won more Super Bowls per se, but who led their team to more Super Bowls. Both had the top teams of that era.

    Which prevailed?

That is the answer. Put it in three inch headlines!
