If most players stay healthy, this season will come down to the offensive line. It was one of the worst last season, & only Frederick was added for improvement. Doug Free has been one of the worst OTs in the NFL the past two seasons, & I don't see how cutting his salary in half is going to make him play any better. Parnell is a journeyman at best. If Costa plays the OC as well as Frederick in training camp, then the first rounder could be moved to OG. Leary seems to be much more comfortable with the play book this off season, & could improve the OG position opposite Frederick. I am still torched that the Jones boys didn't have the sense to go heavy on the OL & took only ONE the entire three days of the draft/UDFAs. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link, & OL is by far our weakest link.

I'd rather go 2-14 than start out 7-2 and miss the playoffs

Denver should scare you - they are one of the best teams in the league.

I don't know what the pre-season odds are, but I'd guess they will be the SB favorite.

On an entirely different note, I think there's a real chance that St Louis and maybe even KC could be very tough outs this year.
But then again, Dallas has about 15-20 reasons why they can and should be better this year too.

I have to think them and NE would have to be AFC favorites. They are a top 5 team in this league at worst. Peyton in year 2, with his new team, after putting up last years numbers, scares me.

Yeah, I should have said AFC. I'm sure SF is the favorite.

    ----
    I just looked it up.
    The post draft odds are
    San Francisco
    Denver
    New England (pre Hernadez fiasco)
    Seattle
    Green Bay
    Atlanta
    Houston
    New Orleans

I would think so, with Green Bay and Seattle close seconds.

Ya, I had real issues with this logic as well. It's as if, "well, we're not paying him that much so at least we're getting our moneys worth out of him." How this makes the team actually better escapes me.

We're going 13-3, people. Redskins, Saints and Raiders will beat us but that's it.

4-6 teams will appear to come out of nowhere and as many will fall away.

9-7. That's also been my prediction the last 2 years.

pretty good. I was dead on picking 8-8 but I suspect much of mine was luck. And I'd of rather been wrong and us go 10-6. That's my prediction this year.

This seems reasonable or perhaps even 10-11 wins, IF the new defensive alchemy works to any degree, the OL takes a huge leap to mediocrity and Jason really isn't in control of the play calling. We might even win a playoff game or two if all 3 of the above prove to be true.

The more I think about this schedule, the more difficult I think it will be. It will be hard enough to go 9-7, let alone 10-6.

Not sure about sweeping the Giants but I can't see Dallas starting out beating both the Giants and Redskins, playing well vs the Broncos and then losing to the Eagles.
