Love the sig.
Greg Spires who played DE for Kiffin before weighed about the same and Spencer is a more dynamic player. Simeon Rice was about the same size as Ware ie 260ish. Lovie Smith likes the bigger guys like Peppers and Wooten who go 280 and 270 respectively. Dungy used Mathis and Freeney who were 245 and 260. Size wise both Ware and Spencer can work in this type of scheme.
I love the idea of zone blitzes out of the 4-3 with the DE who have experience in pass coverage peeling back to take a zone. Both are good in getting back in their drops and if Kiffin is what he is billed to be the drops will be much more precise than the sloppy garbage we saw out of Ryan's zones.
By restructuring Carr and Romo, Dallas does.
I probably would only franchise Spencer rather than giving him a huge contract at this stage of his career. Draft and start to groom his replacement this year.
Thanks for the info.
They're keeping Tony Romo so...I guess that means Spencer is going bye bye.
IMHO I think they extend Romo and Spencer stays.
I think you meant to say.........Garrett led loser of a roster.
What do you guys/gals think we could get for his rights ?
Something would be better than just letting him walk...
Every thread comes down to these two topics for some reason.
Ha. I never got all spun up about the Romo wearing his hat backwards thing, but what is this? Why is he wearing a hat and a suit?
thats what im saying. wth
Starter doesn't make suits yet maybe....?
The Strong Side DE tends to be bigger than Spencer (6-3, 250).
Even Dwight Freeney is 268 lbs.
Kevin Carter (6-5, 290) - 2008 Tampa Bay Bucs
Corey Wootton (6'6, 270) - 2012 Chicago Bears
Red Bryant (6-4, 323) - 2012 Seattle Seahawks
If anything, extending Romo would create cap space to resign Spencer.
A couple of years ago, Tony was in a Jimmy Kimmel skit called "Handsome Mens Club." This clip is right after Jimmy said he was more handsome than Romo because Romo has big ears and that was the reason he can't get his hat on forward.
Wow I'm honestly shocked that we are going to look at resigning him. I like spencer but at what cost is the biggest issue
If they can sign him to a sensible contract do it... However the draft will have some nice players in it.
Yep your whole argument versus creating a hole and having to fill another hole. All gonna come down to money.
He is close r to 260 and putting on 5 lbs would not be that big of a deal probably. I am not an athletic trainer though so I could very well be wrong.
What's a "sensible contract" amount?
Is it possible Dallas looks to Spencer as SLB, With Lee at MLB, and Carter as WLB?
