With the RB market being what is, FA running backs can be had for almost the same amount as a top rookie. Hmmm...

Murray big challenge is staying healthy last season he did start 14 games and still got over the 1,000 yard mark with 9 rushing TD and 1 rec. TD. I look forward to seeing how Linehan will use him.

So we can resign him for what a 1 or 2 would cost?

Just for reference... Ben Tate was one of the top running backs in FA.

He signed a 2-yr 6m deal with the Browns. 1.5m signing bonus and $1m in base salary for 2014.

That's dog food in NFL vet money.

he finished this season as a top 10 which I think would put him around Frank Gore money an avg 6 mill a year contract.

Like Murray. But the right thing to do is let him walk and replace him.

Pay dat man!!! He's the closest COMPLETE RB that we've had since 22. Increase his carries to 20+ a game (no less than 18 going into 4th) and watch our win pct increase as well. Jerry and crew would only add to their foolish cabinet if they let him walk due to the injury excuse while re-up'n SLee.

I believe it was Rowan on Talking Cowboys that said Murray has missed 13 games since being drafted 3 years ago. That averages out to 4 games per year or 25% of each season missed.

Clearly he has a durability issue and everybody on the show agreed that his inability to stay healthy may affect if Dallas decides to sign him after this season.

Agreed..........he has missed 13 games in 3 NFL seasons.

If that is not glass, it is pretty dam close.

Sign him to a reasonable deal, add a vet at some point and call our RB corp good enough to win a Super Bowl with.

True but much of that was 1st 2 season he played 14 games last this past season but I do agree health is a concern and something the Cowboys will look at this year before any new deal is offered

I think this season will be crucial for Murray. If he has any hope of getting resigned after this season, he has got to stay healthy and be productive.

If he gets hurt again, I think Dallas lets him walk....................now also say he has to be productive because he has been known to run out of bounds instead of lowering his head for some extra yardage. I think Garrett said he need to "finish runs off".

That is code for "grow some balls and stop running out of bounds"................Garrett just said it in a more tactful way..............LOL

Even if he's not a heightened injury risk, he's going to cost more than an early-round replacement would on his second contract, and RBs don't have a shelf life. I'd rather replace him with a younger player unless he's willing to resign at a value.

Me too. Running backs these days are pretty much plug and play and are not worth a second contract unless you are a physical freak of nature like Adrian Peterson.

We may not agree on Garrett, but pretty much everything else we tend to be right in synch......................LOL

Yeah, it's pretty obvious. I'm not sure why it's bad to admit it.
