“@toddarcher: Files to @ESPNDallas - Rod Marinelli Is Cowboys new DL coach.”
See it got done.
No more fretting.
They can at least go back to Houston Nutt and how that is a total Jerry hire given his Arkansas friendship.
Bummer, bad day to be a self professed realist.
But I thought Jerry was being cheap and RM was gonna go to Jacksonville. Guess not.
Glad to see it's a done deal.
Jason La Canfora said this was not a done deal. What's happening here?
Nice to add a DC-in-waiting as Kiffin won't be around that long.
Once Jerry shuts the door and stands in front of it like a meercat, it always gets done.
He needs to go back to being the beat reporter for the Redskins, is what it means.
ever thought Marinelli and his agent couldve tried to drum up some interest from Jax, just to get a better deal here? happens all the time.
I anxiously await the Apology to Jerry thread.
The poor sap sucker. That's a fate worse than death.
In truth, I do respect him. He was just wrong this time. It does happen.
Looks like Jerry got his man. I should've never doubted.
Serious question, though. Will we ever be at a place where we have assembled such a crack team of defensive coaches and experts that the players get most of the blame for not producing? This may be that time.
It won't be this time. You'll always have fans blaming coaches and play calling for inferior talent.
I'm not excited whatsoever about the defensive staff. It's a changing league and we've got two dinosaurs expected to keep up with it. There's no question they were great coaches in the past, it's the present I'm concerned about. Age gets the better of all of us at some point. Then you have the scheme switch. Going back to a 4-3 is like getting a kiss from your grandmother.
My focus is on just getting Romo some NFL caliber talent along the OL this offseason. If we can just do that, I'm a happy camper. Flush as many of those turds as you possibly can. Try to win with offense. The coaching on defense wasn't an issue last year. So I'm not sure what we're attempting to fix.
How so? The 43 defense is still widely used and is a very viable scheme.
