Look to be another unanimous decision.

Does what the owners want and does what players ask of him.

Seems to be a win all around.

So, the NFL will be flag-football by the 2019 season? Great.

Why complain? Everyone says the Cowboys lack toughness, so they may be better at flag football.

Horrible decision. By the end of the decade it will basically be flag football.

you gomers are so dumb. Goodell is doing exactly what the owners want. If he didn't, they would get someone else.

So every time you blame Goodell for something, you might as well blame Jerruh and all the owners

    Well said burm.

It's amazing how many people don't realize that the competition committee or other entities within the league make the decisions that Goodell publicizes and takes the fall for.

If this vote was unanimous, it'd be his second unanimous extension.

Hard to say you're doing a bad job when everyone with any sort of responsibility in putting you in that position has voted for you to continue you.

First of all, the rules about contact were coming regardless of who the commissioner was. It's stupid to blame Goodell for that.

Second, it's hard to argue against this choice given that they just worked out a 10 year deal with the union with no opt out clause. Labor peace is the biggest job that the commissioner has. And, Goodell and Smith just led the fight for a deal that both the players and owners feel is a winning formula and insures labor peace for a decade pretty much nailing down the NFL's position as America's favorite sports league.

Exactly. Goodell takes the hits but rule changes that take place, discipline of players and conduct rules that are implemented all come from the owners.

You have 32 owners who vote on all of this and it is Goodell job to implement it and speak on the behave of the 32 owners.
