    Tony Curtis-TE- 49ers Sep. 3 - 3:40 pm et

49ers waived TE Tony Curtis and Joe Jon Finley.

They were both replaceable parts. The Niners will move forward with Nate Byham as the blocking tight end behind Vernon Davis and Delanie Walker.

    Jacques Reeves-DB- Texans Sep. 3 - 3:51 pm et

    note, former cowboy too;

Scout.com's Ed Thompson reports that CB Jacques Reeves will be among the Texans' final cuts Saturday.

We can't say we're surprised. The Texans are making a concerted effort to go young in the secondary, and the 28-year-old Reeves was playing with Houston's third-stringers in the preseason finale. His salary is also $3 million.

No way anyone will be calling for the return of Jacque Reeves.

So if he's no longer Tony Curtis....what, exactly, has he become?

Curtis was here in 07'-08' so he's familiar with Garrett's offense.

Put Gronk on the PS and keep Curtis over Rucker.

Why haven't these questions been answered? They are valid. Is he a Prince fan, and can I call him Prince again? I've lost track.

    Not just no. HELL no!

If Jerry Jones signs him and motivates Eduncan to rejoin this site, I'M driving to Valley Ranch myself to snatch that rug off and slap his bald head silly.

I'd be open to Curtis returning but not Reeves. Romo seemed to have a nice rapport with Curtis, almost Phillips-like.

I don't think 11 receptions in 3 years in Dallas is a nice rapport. And in 2008, Curtis was the #2 tight end before Bennett overtook him. .

2007: 3 catches for 3 TDs. Is he better than Phillips? Emphatically no. Is he better than our current #3? Maybe.

The only TE I wouldn't mind coming back is Scott Chandler. I liked him last year and hoped he'd be on the PS.

Edit...I guess I wouldn't mind Sicko coming back to the PS.

The Dallas Cowboys thought so highly of Tony Curtis they didn't even tender him as an exclusive rights free agent.

That allowed him to become an unrestricted free agent and another team's problem.

    He's not coming back.
