Martez Wilson - LB - Player Illinois ILB Martez Wilson struggled at the Fighting Illini Pro Day according to multiple accounts.
Wilson demonstrated "stiffness," according to Sporting News' Russ Lande, and CBS Sports' Rob Rang heard even more scathing reviews. "Everyone left that workout disappointed with him," said one scout. "His footwork was bad, his hands were bad, even his countenance was bad. ... He didn't look like he wanted to be there." This won't ease concern that Wilson was a workout wonder at the Combine, running the fastest forty among linebackers.

I don't think he's Carpenter. Carpenter had much better agility and flexability but I hear what you are saying. Honestly, I never liked Wilson but I did not watch him play enough to be sure of my opinions.

Watch Belicheat draft him with one of their multiple 2nd rounders and turn him into an All Pro.

I don't know much about his countenance or apparent attitude issues, but the kid is athletic, physical and isn't any stiffer laterally than Bradie James who has eeked out himself a nice little career.

I've seen him played a few times this year. He isn't a NFL MLB. HE has the speed to be side line to sideline but not the strength or skills. He is a WOLB in a 4-3. Most of his tackles are chase downs from behind. Gets blocked easily by small OGs at the second level, has a hard time getting off blocks too. He will fit in a tampa 2 type defense as a WOLB.

He's already doing that with Brandon Spikes, who no one on this board wanted to us to touch last year.

I wasn;t on this forum last year but I liked Spikes in the nd round. I more happy with Lee. Spikes is good but Lee is special. Spikes had a ok good year but hurt him self at the end of the season.
