So no NFC/AFC. What will it be? Team Deion and Team Jerry? Sounds idiotic and on a par with those flag football events they have with celebrities.
Sounds goofy - just do away with the thing and invite the best players to a golf tournament in Hawaii
I like no more kick-offs.
This won't change anything, they still won't try in the game.
Skills competition or some kind of fan interaction weekend would be ok.
Not sure what they are trying to accomplish here. You can move the players around any way you want, the game will still be the same....unwatchable.
They should just throw away the whole thing. Nobody will miss it.
Did I understand correctly that Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders will determine who the Pro Bowl players are??? That cannot be right. Right?

Gone is the familiar AFC vs. NFC match-up that has existed since 1971. Instead, players will be selected without regard to conference in voting by fans, coaches and players. For example, the top six quarterbacks following voting will earn distinction as All-Stars, regardless of how many are from AFC or NFC teams.
Players will be assigned to teams through the Pro Bowl Draft, in which two leading vote getters will join two NFL.com fantasy football champions -- who will attend the Pro Bowl -- to draft players. One of these champions will earn their spot as part of Lenovo's Fantasy Coach of the Year program, which provides NFL.com fans a chance to be rewarded for their fantasy football skills. The other champion can compete for a Pro Bowl role by playing at NFL.com/fantasy.
The fantasy football champions will have Hall of Fame help. Pro Football Hall of Famers Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders will serve as alumni team captains, assisting the Pro Bowl team captains and fantasy football champions in the draft process.
Football without trying your best to win is unwatchable, this will be a failure.
More from the article:
» Game within the Game -- A two-minute warning will be added to the first and third quarters and the ball will change hands after each quarter. This will increase the opportunities for quarterbacks to direct "two-minute drills," which are especially exciting for fans.
» Cover Two and Press Coverage -- The defense will be permitted to play "cover two" and "press" coverage. In previous years, only "man" coverage was permitted, except for goal line situations.
You mean like every Pro Bowl that's been played thus far?
Yeah, thats why i cant understand these changes. It will be the same crap.
So then pretty much there will not be a Football pro bowl from here on out.
Wow. this is beyond stupid. Pandering to the fantasy wacko's I can understand since everyone seems to want to do that anymore. But this?
LIke a dying animal just put it out of its misery
Still a game I will never watch.
I dont like taking away kick offs, I like watchin players like Cribbs and hester
Just need to do a superstars obstacle course
It sounds horrible. But I don't think there is a way to fix the pro bowl. Short of paying the winners an amount worth playing hard for. At this point seeing the AFC/NFC actually play a game of basketball would be more interesting.
i'll watch the draft, probably won't watch the game though even if i try i'll get bored and do something else like every other time i've tried watching the probowl
Such is modern day sports. Always pandering to the casual fan.
