They have an average defence with a run defence that is bad...
We run the ball and use are magic with Romo to try to score more points then Peyton can score on our defence. Rush Peyton and make him make mistakes (kinda hard, but not impossible) and we win this game.

It sure would be nice to have Ellis out there rushing Manning, but one of the other guys will just have to step up. I've been waiting for someone besides Ellis and Ware to rush the QB anyway.

I'm being serious when I say this...

Blitz 7 men. Every play. Throw in an 8th every now and then. Force him to throw it away quickly. You know he'll find someone open if you dont hit him, so at least hit him if he's going to complete it and maybe you get lucky

Im telling you if we do that, we will give up 40+

The way to beat the Colts is NOT to blitz him every down. Take away the deep field. Make him throw 5-10 yard throws all game.

And they'll march down the field with 10 yard passes and still put up 40. The Colts don't throw the deep ball very pften, their offense is more like the spread in college, run short slants and outs and pick the defense apart. Manning LOVES it when teams drop back in coverage

The Bills didn't blitz, they played deep coverage, ran the ball down their throat. Got a couple turnovers, and held them to 17 points.

I fell like we need to use the same game plan

The teams that have played the Colts close this year are not noted for getting a lot of pressure. I didn't watch all those games to see what was effective against them, though.

There's no one way to stop this offence. Change ups are key to keep him guessing. Manning loves to call and change plays at the line. With that in mind we need to give him the same presnap look as much as practical.
Also think coverage is the key. Back off the blitz for the most part. Hitting the recievers in the mouth is also key. Jam all three wideouts at the line with Glenn, Newman and Henry. Two safties over the top. Change up the pass rushers, send 2, send 6, send 3, send 4. Don't let him know what's coming! Do it all from just 2 or 3 looks.
We must force them to go 8 plays to score. Get in the red zone and makem kick field goals. NO BIG PLAYS!

No problem the defense usually gives the same look all the time.

This doesn't have anything to do with the price of tea in China either. You sure you're not lost?

No, its the opposite. He's eating the blitz alive this season (8.9 yards per pass attempt, nine TD passes, only one INT, a 121 passer rating, one rushing TD and only four sacks out of 59 blitzes). The teams that have stopped the Colts have done so by dropping into coverage and not worrying about blitzing him.

The Bills game should give us hope that we can pull off the upset.

The Colts exploits against New England and their little affair with San Diego last year should should give us the blue print.

Here is the problem--who is going to hit him?

Watch the Pittsburgh and San Diego games from last season. That's all I need to see.

    Exactly.

These short-bus candidates that think you can blitz Manning non-stop don't have a friggin clue-- not a single solitary clue.

We don't have the personnel of either SD or Pittsburgh.

If only we were playing last season's Colts.

Anyhow, Jacksonville and Cleveland did a better job shutting down the Colts last season -- and neither of them sacked Manning one time.
