MOBILE, Ala. -- Oregon State defensive lineman Stephen Paea will undergo surgery Thursday after damaging his lateral meniscus in his right knee during a practice drill at the Senior Bowl.

A magnetic resonance imaging exam revealed the injury. Initially, Paea was hopeful that it wasn't serious at all.

The 6-foot-1, 311-pounder expressed disappointment at the injury and said he hopes to bounce back soon.

"I hurt it on the second play of practice, they said I sprained it," Paea said. "It sucks, but I'll be back as soon as possible. I'll get back to work and get
back on the field. It could have been a lot worse."

Perfect guy to get now that his stock just took a nose dive. Wonder if he would be ready to go for mini camp?

For some reason I don't think it's a complete tear (min. of 9-10 months), but just a tear of the miniscus, which takes 7-8 weeks to heal.

Jerry trades down, selects an OT and gets a extra 2nd. Now jump all over Paea with that extra pick.
