Steve Smith calls Aqib Talib 'another notch in the bed post'

How is Steve Smith not your favorite football player? He should be your favorite player. And the Panthers wide receiver proved why again on Monday night, when he repeatedly targeted -- and frustrated -- Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib and then followed it all up by going after him in postgame interviews.

Smith was approached by reporters on Talib and called him "another notch in the bedpost," which is the same level of respect he offered to Janoris Jenkins a few weeks ago.

But the defining moment of Smith's postgame came in an interview with NFL Network's Albert Breer as he left the field. Asked about Talib, Smith coined the phrase "Ice up, son" while shredding the cornerback.

“I don't know," Smith said. "You gonna ask him, because he didn't finish the game. Ice up, son. Ice up!"

Smith only had 4 for 62, and they put him on a lot of pick routes and out of bunch formations that make it almost possible for man coverage to work.

I really like the guy, but its not like he had a major impact last night. The Panthers offense only had like 310 yards or something, its not like they lit it up.

They won, and Talib didn't finish the game. That's enough, I think.

That quote is one of the most popular tweets on twitter this am.

Albert Breer was ranting about his travel experiences with US Airways and Rich Eisen told him to "Ice Up"

Smith is another punk. Small man playing a big man's game..

Two words for ya Smith fans..

Terrence Newman.. Stopped Smith and shut him out on a few occasions. Causing The GREAT Smith so much frustration, dude got kicked outta the game..

I like both players... Newman played some of his best ball against Steve Smith. Still a fan of him.

What I like about Smith is that he's had more than enough good games to be able to run his mouth against opponents. Football-playing dude.

I would love steve smith on cowboys. He is great receiver and is tough as nails. Smith and Bryant on the same sideline may be a little too animated for the media though :).

I love Smith, too. You can talk the talk, as long as you walk the walk. And he definitely walks the walk.

Yeah, I wouldn't want him on the team when he was punching team mates. Media would have smeared that info over their fun parts and ran with it.
