Annie James, a 14-year-old from Baytown, Tex., issued a handwritten $10 parking ticket to Officer Tommy King, whose patrol car was parked in a fire zone in the Bay Oaks apartment complex.

"I came to my car and I saw a piece of paper on my windshield," King said. "I took it off and opened it and read it and I started laughing immediately."

The "ticket" informed King he needed to pay $10 to the manager of the apartment complex. Not only did the officer pay the fine — he gave Annie a $40 gift card to Toys R Us.

Law Enforcement can't exceed the speed limit unless on a call...

I love it when they go so slow that they cause traffic to backup, because people are too afraid to go around them. Grrr..

is that like not being allowed to turn on their flashing lights unless on a call except when they decide they want to make a U turn in the middle of the street?

This is all the minor stuff when compared to them lying under oath so often.

I actually saw a patrol car with a LEFT TURN BLINKER ON yesterday at an intersection!! I was STUNNED.

WHAT? An Officer of the Law actually abiding by traffic laws!?

I've never heard of such a thing. I wished I had had my video recorder to capture the event. Because I KNOW nobody will ever believe me.

I notice that as well. I have no problem passing them up as long as I am doing the speed limit but some will not go past that patrol car.

I won't pass them as I see it as the same as dangling red meat in front of a lion.

I work around so many cops that I don't think much about it. For the most part most of them are good people, there are few that got into law enforcement for the wrong reason I agree have no business carrying a badge.

The biggest problem I have with this story is him giving a 14 year old girl a gift certificate to Toys R US.

I beleive when citizens see fellow good police break the blue line, they will feel that those bad apples are actually held accountable. Right now, not so much.
