Trivia: Until Jerry Jones bought the Cowboys, Tex Schramm was the only GM the Cowboys ever had; who recommended him to Clint Murchison?

You know what? I just realized, it was Schramm who recommended Rozelle as NFL Commissioner.

Dan Reeves (Rams owner) or George Halas would be my guess.

After hearing that Tex Schramm was interesting in leaving CBS for the NFL, Bedford Wynne phoned George Halas to get his opinion on Schramm. Halas gave Tex a glowing recommendation and said he would be the perfect man for the job.
