Dow falls below 10k - so, here's the deal. We were told we MUST accept more socialism in order to avoid a recession. Now it looks like we shall have both. Just nice. And as usual, when this bailout fails, there will be no mention of undoing that tangle of pork. Rather, we will be sold yet another bill of goods about nationalizing the airlines, auto industry, etc etc. Perhaps even energy. Next thing you know, we'll be putting on Olympics with thousands of regimented youths forced to sit for dozens of hours in diapers due to lack of restroom facilities, and feeding our children milk cut half-and-half with industrial solvents due to missed production quotas outlined in our five year plan by our Central Planning Committe. And we'll collectively muse in wide-eyed wonderment "where did it all go?".

Yeah...I heard that wall street points went up initially but then started going right back down.

I think they know that this bail out is just a bandaid where we need a tourniquet.

Oddly enough no matter the differences on this board it seems like the mass majority seen this thing as a bad thing. That says plenty about it doesn't it.:laugh2:

i really liked the "bailout" that someone posted here (maybe Cajun ?)
that showed for 700 billion each taxpayer could get about 400,000.00 $

that would have boosted the economy..!!!

Those are incorrect figures. Take 700 billion and divide it by 150 million (roughly the # of people who file taxes) and you get $4666.67. That's a lot of money, but it's roughly 100 times less than the bailout proposed by whoever posted it.
