@timb2 ,I just want to let you know that you're cooking with this one!!! A+

CB - Tre Amos n Jacob Parrish - you have Parrish at Slot CB which is perfect for his play style and limitations. Amos is just a really good looking CB, nothing more to say about him.

OT - Chase Lundt - Sign me up, his athleticism is great for a ZBS and his nastiness, 2nd level abilities, finish and footwork to get position on his blocks is what this coaching staff was talking about. Swap Waletzko out for this guy.
WR - De'Corian Clark - Dez Bryant, big body, go up and highpoint the football over a CBs head.

Just want to say awesome draft, and it was a pleasure to the build you put together on this one.

Sidenote: you left Mingo off the depth chart.

I actually kind of like it, except for the Damone Clark at Mike. IMO, he would have to go OLB, and one of the others, FA, or a draft pick be the backup Mike.

Overview

Physical runner with a compact frame and lower center of gravity. James punches way above his weight class when it comes to breaking tackles and doling out punishment, but his ability to suddenly cut and change direction should not be minimized. He plays fast but lacks patience to allow his blocks to develop. Early success on runs over the tackle can eventually lead to collision finishes, where he ducks his eyes instead of seeking to find a cut or move. James lacks finesse, but his ability to get tough yards could create draft value as a RB3 with a chance to develop into a larger role in time.

Strengths

  • Hits sudden lateral cuts to elude early penetration from the defense.
  • Instant stop-start and change-of-direction quickness.
  • Absorbs and runs through contact with powerful lower half.
  • Looks to demolish defensive backs who try to tackle him.
  • Able to take short throws and add yards after the catch.
  • Displays a willingness to hit and compete in pass protection.

Overview

Durable three-year starter who is built like a right guard but has valuable protection experience as a collegiate tackle. Savaiinaea doesn’t have the athleticism to stick at right tackle in the NFL, but can play there in a pinch with some help. He’s very wide and can engulf smaller opponents as a base blocker while sealing off double teams and down blocks. His feet often deaden on contact, creating opportunities for defenders to leak through his edges in both the run and pass games. Savaiinaea’s size works to his advantage and he could become a serviceable starting guard in time.

Strengths

  • Dense frame with excellent thickness through limbs.
  • Patient with hands but fires them with timing and accuracy.
  • Uses posture and core to control rushers once he’s locked in.
  • Space-eating frame will be tough to beat quickly inside.
  • Able to shove angle blocks around with upper-body strength.
  • Does a nice job of finding and fitting up second-level targets.

Overview

A defensive lineman with rare traits, Walker might require a heavier lean on projection over tape. He’s tight-hipped and too upright to really sink in and command the gaps as an even-front defensive tackle. His success rate rises once he’s able to kick out wider in the alignment and engage in more man-to-man battles. Consistent pocket pressure could come if he starts playing with better aggression to overwhelm protection with physical gifts. The tape was better in 2023 and there were times in 2024 that his conditioning showed up as an issue. Walker’s traits and upside could make him a more consistent NFL talent if he improves his technique and ramps up his motor.

Strengths

  • Enormous human with elite size and length.
  • Can overwhelm opponents with physical traits.
  • Uses length and athleticism to play off blocks and slide laterally.
  • Firm edge-setter when bumped out to five-technique.
  • Pries open pathways to the pocket when finding proper arm extension.
  • Athletic feet create rush opportunities across the gaps.
  • Expect uptick in pocket pressures with development of more go-to moves.

Overview

Caldwell carries the broad hips and girth of a classic nose tackle, but he is athletic enough to take snaps at either tackle spot in an even front. He can eat blocks against double teams or hog gaps as a read-and-react two-gapper. He gets bounced around some when he plays too straight-legged or ends up on the ground when he loses control, but he plays with heart and has a strong win rate at the point. He’s a hustle rusher with the potential to dent the pocket when singled up. Caldwell has middle-round value but could find starter’s reps in the future.

Strengths

  • Girthy frame but loose and athletic for his size.
  • Good knock-back pop as a read-and-react defender.
  • Sinks post leg and gets low to foil double-team blocks.
  • Upper-body turn allows him to spit blocks and disrupt the play.
  • Hustles hard to maintain gap integrity against zone blocks.
  • Plays with good strain and motor through the whistle.
  • Flashed a bull rush and spin counter on 2023 tape at Houston.

Overview

High-energy edge prospect with projectable traits but unorthodox movements and body control that might create a lack of conviction when it’s time to stamp a grade. Jackson added muscle mass to his leggy frame, but a lack of bend hinders his anchor and contact balance against force. He’s long and urgent in fighting his way past the man in front of him. He’ll never be a natural edge bender but he plays with connected hands and feet that should allow him to develop more impactful rush counters. It will look gawky at times, but Jackson seems to be growing into his frame and possesses the traits and motor to make it as a future starter on the edge.

Strengths

  • Added more than 40 pounds to his frame at Arkansas.
  • Puts blockers at the end of his reach when he lands first.
  • Slinks into backfield with forward push and slippery upper half.
  • Expansive down-line range to dart inside and thwart runner’s plans.
  • Wrecked Alabama’s protection in 2023 with spectacular performance.
  • Plays with good connection between his hands and feet.
  • Flashes legitimate feel for timing with inside rush moves.
  • Has ability to open tackle’s outside edge with efficient hand work.

Overview

Long press cornerback who proved he could make the jump from the Sun Belt to the SEC without a hitch. Amos can disrupt the release and plays with good short-area movement in man coverage. He can get a little lost at the top of the route and needs occasional safety nets over the top. He has twitchy feet to close and sees the action clearly from zone but can be hampered by indecisiveness, despite favorable instincts. Amos uses physicality and length to shrink the 50/50 odds in his favor. He can play in multiple coverage but is most consistent in zone. Amos needs to ramp up his run support and trust his eyes in space, but he has the goods to become a solid starting outside corner.

Strengths

  • Possesses foot quickness and size to be a problem in press.
  • Plays with pro coverage agility and transition quickness.
  • Has body control and footwork needed to stay in phase versus NFL routes.
  • Twitchy burst and long arms help with catch disruption.
  • Plant-and-drive is sudden and without stall at the top.
  • Desired pacing, positioning and vision in Cover 3 looks.
  • Allowed sub-19 percent completion rate on throws of 20-plus air yards for his career, per PFF.

Overview

Two-year starter with ball skills and athleticism for inside/outside versatility. Parrish glides around the field powered by quick feet and smooth hips. He can stay tight to underneath routes from press man and plays with poise and timing when the throw goes deep. He has adequate long speed and twitchy short-area burst to challenge throws from off-man and zone but struggles to gather and redirect quickly to match comebacks and double-breakers. He played with better coverage physicality in 2024 but is still lacking as a run defender and open-field tackler. He needs more seasoning but has the athletic tools and ball skills to compete for a role as a CB3.

Strengths

  • Added muscle before the 2024 season.
  • Uses feet and physicality to slow down release from press.
  • Smooth hips allow for easy transitions.
  • Plus route recognition from tight man coverage.
  • Twitchy closing burst to challenge catch point.
  • Phases deep ball with good poise and positioning.
  • Good internal timing to turn and find the football downfield.

I have a lot of respect for the amount of work you put into this. But, I wouldnt spend a 2nd on James. Too many good rbs to be found later. Just as good

Just not sold on Walker as the top pick

When i read “conditioning was a question mark” it tells me he doesnt love the game and is not self motivated. For this sort of player team culture is extremely important and we have a horrible culture of entitlement

Ultimate boom or bust

No thanx

I like Jordan James and that last RB. Why can't we just be normal people and draft normal players at RB?

It's so much easier than guessing.
