This was a garbage pick from the get-go. There was so much more talent on the board when he was selected. Couldn't take a chance on Duke Robinson in the 4th? OOOOKAAY.
Chalk this up to another trashy O-lineman pick for the Dallas Cowboys.
Tore pec lifting weights.
Rookie Brewster To Miss Camp, Much More

SAN ANTONIO – The Cowboys are expecting the majority of the some 16 players missing the most recent minicamp with a varying level of injuries to return for the start of practice when training camp workouts begin here on Wednesday at the Alamodome.
But one player not among a group either recovering from off-season surgeries or held out for mostly precautionary reasons will miss the entire training camp and likely several more months.
Third-round draft choice Robert Brewster has suffered a torn pectoral muscle while lifting weights in the post-minicamp training program, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed, and the subsequent surgery to repair the injury leaves him unavailable for the start of training camp. The Cowboys are unsure if the offensive lineman from Ball State can return in time to become active for the 2009 season.
Brewster, who had been playing second-team right tackle behind Marc Colombo, was recently seen walking through The Ranch with his arm in a sling.
The Cowboys could place Brewster on injured reserve if they think he has no chance of getting back this season, which would open up a roster spot. Or they can buy some time by placing him on PUP (physically unable to perform) before the cut to 53 which would afford him another six to 10 weeks of recovery time during the season without counting against the 53-man roster or being lost for the year.
This will be the first critical roster decision of the summer the club must make, but likely not the only one. Veteran free agent defensive lineman Tim Anderson isn’t expected to be ready for the start of training camp either, Jones said. Anderson had toe surgery similar to that of Felix Jones’ the latter part of May and was expected to miss at least three months rehabbing.
Brewster rated as a better prospect than that fat man from OU. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Remind us all again, when was Robinson drafted?
OUCH. NOT even to camp and we lose a guy for most of the season for all intents and purposes. Not like we expected much from him this year though so it could be worse. Now my question was he trying to do too much or was it just a accident?
How in the blue hell did Brewster tear a muscle during a team sponsored weight lifting program??? What kind of coaching/medical supervision does this team have???
If he is going to miss that much time they may as well put him on injured reserve for the season.
That's horrble. :bang2: Sorry, but you have to put that on the Strength and Conditioning Coach. These guys need to prepare better, even if it's in the weight room.
Without the benefit of camp there is NO WAY he can contribute anything in 2009, so I'd only offer him a rookie-minimum contract if he has not signed one already, and then place him on injured reserve. At thest then the Cowboys can keep his rights for 2010 without fear of losing him, and without taking up a roster spot to keep him.
He'll probably be a bust anyway. The numbers point to it.
oh good gravy man.
Crap! I hope it isn't another epidemic of injuries. Cory Proctor just made this team.
Dallas o-line draftees = red shirt crewmen on Star Trek.
It's getting worse.
Leaving thread now.
Dont Panic. Our Savior, The Holy One, can backup marc colombo. He will be put on PUP, or IR which opens a roster spot.
CULT OF BUEHLER
That's it!!! I'm setting phasers to FRAG!!! Prepare to meet your maker, UNDERDOG!!! :chainsaw:
Oh. What the heck. I'll just call Vick.
That's the worst news I've heard all day. :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:
Good grief dude, it was an accident. Go the gym for awhile and you'll see it happens quite a bit. It is very easy to tear pec muscles doing certain exercises, especially with very heavy weights.
It would make more sense to put him on PUP now and have the option to activate or still put him on IR.
