You can tell Steve Levy had to hurry and get ready to go on, because his earpiece falls out as he starts to talk.

I have never understood why this is "funny." Then again I can't stand Howard Stern.

Ditto. Its funny on so many levels. C'mon Hos, thats funny stuff.

And how in the world can ESPN let this guy on. He doesn't sound REMOTELY like Brian Westbrook at all.

He's a human underwear stain. I wouldn't pee in his mouth if his guts were on fire.

The reason why this is funny is in part ESPN's incompetence in screening the call and mistaking Brian Westbrook for a white guy in Captain Janks and then the big punchline, the reaction of Van Pelt and Levy's face when the found out they were had.

I find that most people that hate Stern usually have barely ever heard his show or they have religious beliefs that go against the fiber of what he talks about.

I have no issue with the latter, but the former is a bit ignorant IMO...especially when you hear their reasons which usually consist of roughly 20% of the content of his show, but they act like it's 99% of the show. What's particularly hypocritical is the people that love today's reality TV shows and claim they hate Howard, who was really the pioneer of reality 'radio' that TV shows stole and claimed for themselves. Although I'm in a different boat in that I hate almost all reality TV shows and listen to Stern everyday.

But I still believe this is useful. Just another example of the sports media which is dying for soundbytes and being the first to report ANY story rather than doing a thorough, detailed and insightful job on reporting the story. Like I said, the prank caller is a white guy who impersonated Westbrook AND his manager and really did a poor job of it and still got away with it.

AND, the prank caller has told the show that one of ESPN's producers called him up and threatened him and threatened to get him arrested (which ESPN can't do).

    In the end, ESPN always.
