Something nyc said in another thread made me think of this. I think it might wind up being an interesting topic. So who of you have them? What do they do? Are they okay with your playing as long as you do your manly duties or your chore list?

Do they just hate you playing them in general? Do they play games themselves?

Mine plays games but she plays the more traditional games, like Solitaire and she used to play Farmville (Ugh). As for more advanced games like BF3 and other FPS games, she doesn't play them at all.

She generally dislikes me playing them no matter what I do but she'll only bicker about it if I haven't gotten something done that I was supposed to do.

Neither my wife nor I play any computer games. I have a game, Tiger Woods PGA Golf 2003 that someone gave me as a Christmas present and I played it for a while and enjoyed it but no longer have any time for games. Back in the 1980s I spent a lot of time playing computer games until one day I realized how much time I was spending playing games and getting no money for all that wasted time so I just quit playing them.

I'm not criticizing game players, everyone uses their own time their own way but for me the desire to accomplish something meaningful, to me at least, exceeds my desire to use my time non-productively. Reading and posting in this forum is not productive but, like games, relieves a lot of personal stress and there is value in that. We all need to occasionally retreat into our universes of fantasy to escape the ugly realities of today's world if only for short periods.

We all waste time, we just do it differently and life is good, anyway.

that's us too. I have motion sickness, so I can't play any 3-D game. I can play some flash games, like PvZ, AB, Diner Dash, etc.

My playing time decreased when I met my wife. Not because she didn't like me playing, but because she wants to watch. So now I have to wait until she's home to play, and usually then I'm not in the mood.

She doesn't particularly care if I play games, but I make it a point not to play games when she is awake/around. I don't exactly split my attention well. It's in my best interest not to try. :D

Sleep is going to take up at least 6 hours of that time, then work is about another 10 to 11 hours of the day and then you have sports center. :laugh2:

Jen plays a bejeweled game on my DS and I play console and computer games. So she doesn't have a big issue with my games.

We were both gamers when we met, so not a big deal. I don't really have time for gaming now, though, so I just play some FB games.
