Maybe only I'll find this interesting, but hey.

The Cowboys, Redskins and Eagles all used a draft pick on a Stanford Cardinal defender. Ben Gardner to the Cowboys, Trent Murphy to the Redskins, Ed Reynolds to the Eagles.

I'll be curious to see who got the best player. Obviously the Redskins used a much higher pick for Murphy so the odds are stacked in their favor but it's still worth watching.

Gardner might be a steal but right now I'll give Philly the nod with Reynolds because he has the quickest shot at starting.

Gardner if healthy may give Selvie a run for his money. May split snap making both more effective. Dallas weak D line give Gardner a chance to play a lot.

I think Gardner will surprise a lot of people on this board, some videos I saw of him gets lined up inside more than actual Dend at Stanford, the defense they ran had him lined up in the guard.

Murphy likely does better, but I think we have the highest motor of the 3...anything can happen if you have a motor on a guy...

I didn't watch much of Stanford last season, so perhaps I will just wait and let those in the know chime in! :D

It will depend on how success is defined and how the Cowboys use Gardner.

If they use him at SDE in the base (non-Nickel) then he won't get many sacks will can still be a very solid player. If they give him significant snaps at DT in the Nickel then he will probably have more plays that the common fan will notice.

I am going to say it is going to be us with Ben Gardner because we will also have Ken Bishop on the D line as and that is what puts us over the top concerning who got the best cardinal.

Would be very sweet if we can just get rotation out of Gardner and Bishop, both high motor guys. now if we can get Melton close to 100% we may actually surprise ourselves.

Murphy is the best of the three, IMO.

    Value-wise, Gardner gets the nod.

Every year or so Philly drafts a defensive pass rush specialist that goes into obscurity 3 years into the league.

It is just me or are Cowboys fans pinning a lot of hope on a seventh round defensive tackle? (Bishop)

I like Eddie Reynolds. Eagles safeties are just as bad as ours so I see Reynolds getting some key snaps (barring injury)

Gardner is my favorite pick in this draft. He's the next Jared Allen.
