Since TE is going to be a premium position this year, it is going to be interesting to see the position develop as Drew distributes the ball in a hopefully rejuvinated offensive attack... J. Witten, R. Hannam, and A. Fasano should be happy with what's being cooked up. Who is your all time favorite Dallas Cowboy tight end?

It was a tough choice between Billy Joe Dupree and Jay Novacek but I went with Jay because I was so excited to see how he blossomed into a star for us. Dupree was a big play guy who seemed to step up when we needed him to.

I like Witten a lot and it will be interesting to see how Fasano does.

Mike Ditka - Hall of Fame player as a Chicago Bear. Very good player as a Cowboy (played with significant pain). Amusing displays of almost out of control emotion as a Cowboys assistant head coach. A great personality.

Billy Joe Dupree - excellent blocker, inconsistent hands (He performed significant community service work during his playing days).

Doug Cosbie - excellent hands - a perfect fit for his team.

Jay Novacek - excellent hands - a perfect fit for his team.

Jason Witten - due to other flashier and faster TEs in the league right now, Witten is destined to be underrated nationally. But he's a great fit and likely to make a major contribution.

    Mike Lucky.

Gotta go with Witten because he's an original Cowboy with the most promise. When he played with a wired jaw it impressed me.

I hate these polls because I always have more than one favorite. Billy Joe DuPree was a huge presence when TE's wasn't a focal part of the game plan in the NFL, so he is my 1st favorite.

My second favorite, Only because he came later is Witten. He is one tough guy and can catch and he actually has improved his blocking. He is a dominating player in the seam as well.

I have to go with Jay Novacek. In addition to having great hands, he always ran great routes. He didn't have great speed, but his cuts always seemed to create good cushions between himself and a linebacker. It's another reason why the timing offense ran so well with him at tight end.

Where's Jackie Smith on this list?:cry3:

I guess I'd go with Witten at this point. Love Novacek, though.

Jay Novacek. I remember when he was with the Cardinals. And he was their offense against us. Always killed us. When he was available in the Plan B FA period, I was hoping JJ would bring him in, and did. Always thought he was very good, and he then turned out to be great.

Also had another TE, his back up with the Cards, then came here, under appreciated TE. Robert Awalt. Had some back problems limiting him somewhat if I remember correctly. But thought these 2 made a great TE duo.

I was to young to remember Dupree, Cosbie, and Ditka.

But I do remember Novacek, he was a terrific TE, one of my favorite players of the 90s Cowboys era.

I know alot of people might kill me on this one though but Witten, has better athleticism than Novacek.

Whether or not alot people believe this but I do see similarities between Novacek, and Witten.

Witten, will benefit from having T.O. at WR, because this will be the most complete offense Owens, will have ever been in barring how the O-line turns out.

But I do see big things from Witten, and the rest of the Cowboys TEs.

Tied for first would be Jay and Doug. Witten will change that for me very soon. Fasano is gonna win us all over. I like this kid.
