    Zoners:
Many of you have seen me post here for a long time.
Many here question my views ,specially political views.
I will let all who care know why I think the way I think.
I grew up in Dominican Republic.
I was born an American citizen, but did not make to this great land until 1991.
I grew up in a place where electricity, running water, and all the common living things are not readily available to you.
Imagine going to the store and try to buy milk.
Yes,milk...try going to 8 to 10 different stores and finding no milk at all.
Try going to the main milk company and find no milk there either.
Try electricity and not having it at night.
Try hot nights without it...sleeping under a mosquito net and sweating.
Where I grew up,you had to buy your daily meals in the morning.
There was no such thing as grocery shopping. With no power, everything would go bad.
Sugar..the biggest producer of sugar had no sugar for its citizens.
Sugar was dirty and brown..you had to filter it.
Meat, eggs and the milk you could never find would go bad.I remember my mom buying many of the spices early in the morning from a vendor in a tricycle,if you wanted fresh chiken,go down to the market and they would kill one for you for you to take home.
Orange juice was juice ok...it was not orange.
    It was brown!
I lived there for a long time and that was the only life I knew.Blackouts for hours and hours. We powered our tv with a car battery.

All the basic necessities here are a luxury there.
    Trust me,I lived there.
I saw the movies and commercials about the USA but never came here.

I did not have a job after moving to Puerto Rico with my mom, luggage and 40 dollars cash.
I lived in a rented garage with my mom.
We put a couple of beds and a make shift bathroom there.
I could not find a job so I joined the US Army.
That was during the first Gulf War.
During my time here(almost 20 years)I learned how things work here.
I traveled abroad this amazing, fertile land.
This is the best deal ever!...USA is the best thing ever put together.
I cannot understand for the life of me why would you want to change it.
    Land of opportunity 100%.
Notice how many foreigners come here and prosper.
Why would anybody want to ruin this???
I swore to defend the principals of this country, defend the constitution against enemies foreign and domestic.
I can tell who are the domestic ones.
Growing up in a place where the government acts all reckless taught me that.To identify those who do not have the country's interests at heart.
    I have seen it before.
    It has happened here.
    It happened this week.
And once again I swear to defend the land I love.
My sons were born here...need I say more?

    God Bless America
    Land of the Free
    Because of the Brave.

I love this country too. I don't care what anyone else says. **** those stupid conspiracy morons. This country has battled and defeated some of the most fascists regimes and dictators. Hitler, Saddam to name a few. Sure America isn't perfect. But it is america that has looked evil in the eye and defeated it. People can complain about certain wars that we didn't belong in or have no business in. But at the end of the day we all know that it was all done for good not evil. Not for a political agenda. Not for oil or power. But for whats right in this world. This is why I hate conspiracy therists and hate when the french diss us. Screw who ever doesn't love this country. This is the United States of America damn it!!!! If you don't love it then get the **** out!!!

It's a great story and I am glad you love America with they passion you do Artie.

However how would you feel if you saw some one say something unpleasant about a guy and then another guy's reply is....well what do you expect from a guy with a middle name like Jose or Javier.

I would imagine you would think it is pretty stupid, probably how people think of what you said in the other thread.

    Just something to consider.

I've never lived in a foreign country but I grew up next to one. Anyone who doesn't love this country has no idea how good we have it.

Merle Haggard said it better than I can.

    I hear people talkin' bad,
About the way we have to live here in this country,
Harpin' on the wars we fight,
An' gripin' 'bout the way things oughta be.
An' I don't mind 'em switchin' sides,
An' standin' up for things they believe in.
When they're runnin' down my country, man,
They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.
Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me.
Runnin' down the way of life,
Our fightin' men have fought and died to keep.
If you don't love it, leave it:
Let this song I'm singin' be a warnin'.
If you're runnin' down my country, man,
You're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.

I read about some squirrely guy,
Who claims, he just don't believe in fightin'.
An' I wonder just how long,
The rest of us can count on bein' free.
They love our milk an' honey,
But they preach about some other way of livin'.
When they're runnin' down my country, hoss,
They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.

He wrote that in 1970. How amazing that it applies today.
