This means nothing to me. The Cowboys were coming off a 10-6 season where they won the division and won 7 of their last 8 games. They team looked set to do big things in 2019. What was their position of need? The drafted Hill at DT and perhaps that was a disappointment. but we knew he was a project. The Cowboys were drafting for depth. I still think Hill will be a decent 2nd round pick in a year or two.

But I will say this, if they can;t work something reasonable out with Cooper, and he leaves, then the 2019 draft will be a disaster.

It wasn't Jerry being Jerry.

We had no 1st round pick.

Our DC#1 and DC#2 wanted the DT over the safeties.

Their 3rd round pick got injured, **** luck.

4th rounder was a RB, that did well in a limited role.

It's cool. We had no needs.

Ok?

Since 2013 the Cowboys have had more voices in the war room. McClay, Stephen, Garrett and coordinators at times have dictated picks. Rod found his next project in Hill and Richard backed the pick on draft day.

How is that Jerry's fault? Do we want Jerry to have absolute say again?

McGovern will probably start in 2020, and should be a plus starter. Pollard had 450 yards rushing, and could become one of the better #2 backs in the NFL. He has alot of potential as a reciever as well.

When all is said and done, the 2019 draft might not look so bad

Was Trysten Hill actually considered a great talent? I never watch college ball, only the NFL... so I have no idea.

Was he great at the college level?

We're just going to go ahead and not count Amari?

That's totally reasonable.
Amari Cooper is directly related to the draft last year. How can you not count him? It's not reasonable to me to not count him.

He was ok.

He had off the charts workouts but it didn't show up on the field.

Nobody loves a great combine or pro day workout more then me but you'd like to see them be good on the field first.

The biggest problem with the Trysten Hill pick that I have is that it was pre-determined.

He was pretty good and has great potential at the pro level. He just needs to be developed and treated with a little patience for him to mature.
