Ok?

Since 2013 the Cowboys have had more voices in the war room. McClay, Stephen, Garrett and coordinators at times have dictated picks. Rod found his next project in Hill and Richard backed the pick on draft day.

How is that Jerry's fault? Do we want Jerry to have absolute say again?
You're right.
My guess is that other than the trade, Jerry had less to with this draft than any in the last decade.

McClay and Rod however......

It ridiculous to judge a draft after 10 months. Hill was always seen a project and they had a high second round grade on McGovern, which is how they rated Travis Frederick.

You also have guys that could surprise like Jalen Jelks and JonVea Johnson. You know its the offseason when people are dreaming up reasons for threads like "draft rating within our division but some guy compared only to the others in our division but not counting Amari Cooper".

It wasn't Jerry being Jerry.

We had no 1st round pick.

Our DC#1 and DC#2 wanted the DT over the safeties.

Their 3rd round pick got injured, **** luck.

4th rounder was a RB, that did well in a limited role.

We had no first round pick and picked a player in the second round who wasn’t even a starter in college. No surprise he wasn’t good enough to suit up last season. Had we drafted Hill after the fourth round he probably wouldn’t have made the team. He did nothing in training camp or preseason to make the team. His second round draft position is why he made the team.

Amari Cooper is directly related to the draft last year. How can you not count him? It's not reasonable to me to not count him.
Lol, to be clear, I was being sarcastic.

He is definitely a part of hte draft class.

Was Trysten Hill actually considered a great talent? I never watch college ball, only the NFL... so I have no idea.

Was he great at the college level?

He did not play a lot. A rotational guy. Bad attitude. Yet he became the Dallas second round pick.

Not true. He was the best player on his team by a mile and the new coaching staff had a stupid motivational technique of benching him for the first plays to show they were in charge. The previous coaching staff loved him and gave him a strong endorsement.

This is incredibly wrong.

Dak could have a $45m cap hit this year and they could still afford Amari, Byron, QUinn and Collins lmao.
And there are plenty of other positions to fill............it all adds up........is the weak lmao supposed to mean something?

Does patience equal excuses? I’m asking for a friend.
Excuses? Do excuses equal explanations? There are reasons why Trystin Hill wasn't the incredible hulk in his first NFL season. First, that's just not who he was in 2019. He will develop into something more. Tomsula is the perfect coach to maximize what Hill becomes. He could become a beast.

We'll keep him and get rid of defenders.

Then we will complain about our defense not being good enough i'm sure.

"Defenders" not worth paying anyway. Outside of Quinn, there's not one that deserves big money.

Jury is still out on the 2nd and 3rd pick. And they need to wait to grade the QB's NYG and WAS drafted as well.

The only fair thing to grade after one season are FA's signed. They're signed to perform in that season.

The last coaching staff apparently had him figured out. We should’ve taken the advice from that coaching staff. The guy sucked! He couldn’t even make the game day roster until we had no choice but to suit him up in a few games. We were running out of bodies and got down to him.

There are not other positions to fill that can't be filled b/c of the salary cap. They have $90m of space before doing anything, and the cap is going to continue to go up. There is no consequence to the Dak or Amari contracts.

The lmao is because you - and everyone else who is afraid to pay good players - is wrong about this.

No, he was considered a reach even in the second round. Most had him pegged as a 4th round developmental project who had traits but never did more than flash in college. And they also questioned his attitude and work ethic. "They" were right.
