Holy Larry, are you incompetent on a computer? Just type in Dak/Cowboys public contract negotiations.

Seriously, how can you not know how to do that?

Seriously, how do you not know how to post a link? lol It’s nothing but “reports” none of it confirmed by Jerry or Stephen. Every time either one of them are asked about the reports they either deny them or won’t comment. I remember when Jane Slater said the day before players were to arrive at training camp that Zeke would be on the plane. She was wrong!

How about we stop rewarding players like they have won a Super Bowl when they wouldn’t get this kind of treatment in any other market.
The market dictates what you are worth. If the Cowboys are not gonna pay him $35-40M, someone else will. I don't think he is worth that, but the market is what the market is.

Sounds good. Translation: don’t sign any of your homegrown top talent to 2nd contracts unless they won a SB. Might work, who knows?

Without Emmitt there would not have been the SB's but it did take the triplets and other players around #22 to make it happen. In 1993 it was a whole lot different then now. I can understand what he is saying. The problem is that NO ONE here knows what the contracts that Dak has been offered so were just speculating I do think that Dak should take a little less and allow other players to be signed. Regardless of how you feel about Dak Is he a top ten or not Dak still needs to have some other good pieces to win a SB.
Winning a SB cements his legacy IMO and because he plays for the Cowboys endorsements will be plenty. I think 28 mill has left the table and I would think that if he takes 30 mil thats a discount.
I can see Dak maybe taking less with Less years so that if he does put a ring or two on Jerry fingers then he can get paid. If Jerry is wanting him to take that 30 mil for 7 years I can see why Dak wouldnt want to take it for that long.
This is truly a guessing game because we dont know what all is in the contracts that Dak has been offered.

Overpaying players leads you straight away from the super bowl. That's not how I'm taking it, that's just the facts.

If you are truly a Cowboys fan, you should be rooting for Dak to sign for a reasonable amount.
Nope. I'm rooting for Dak and the team to negotiate a fair deal. And that's usually how these things work out. Every year fans stress about how the team is going to pay this guy or that guy and they make a way EVERY YEAR.

I'll never get pressed about players wanting to maximize their value, because in two years, they could be on the NFL unemployment line. Players short shelf lives leads to limited prosperity.

Fair deal. Of course.

However, I believe you said "Pay him". I might be wrong, and I'm not interested in looking back and seeing!!

"Pay him" and "negotiate a fair contract" are almost polar opposites.

Only if you're a linear thinker.. lol

1) I was just messing with you when I said, "Pay him! " because y'all are all so serious about it.

2) Dak is going to get paid. Seriously paid. And folks might as well wrap their minds around that fact. The Jones have NEVER not paid a top tier player or anyone else in FA that they truly wanted. Well, except Nnamdi Asoumgha and that turned out to be a win. Why stress about it?

to keep things in perspective, how many endorsement deals did tony romo have while playing for the cowboys. very few. Jason witten, a tom thumb deal. dez? T.O.? murray? freddy, zack and tyron smith? these are deals you do on your own based on your marketability. they really don't have much to do with what team you're representing. ergo, the money stands on its own.

I wouldn't take a penny less than what is fair and comparable to other QBs in my position. I'm not negotiating down because of yet to be presented endorsements. Always, always on the players side when it comes to compensation. Get yours, Dak!
Good post... And, this is not limited to professional athletes, either. Regardless your profession, you should command market comparable wages.

Dak makes like 50 mil on commercials.

In this case, Dak has a choice to make. Contend for a super bowl or make 40 mil. No, as much as people scream it, you don't get both. History screams that!!!

"As of 2019, Dak made $50 million off of endorsement deals with several top companies, including Campbell’s Chunky Soup, 7-Eleven, New Era caps, Sleep Number beds, Pepsi, Citi, and Oikos. Aside from those deals – many of which are in place for years to come – Prescott has taken out loss-of-value and disability insurance policies that will compensate him in the event of a career-ending injury."

This is what angers me. You're making plenty of money off of endorsements (some you would not get by being on another team). A few mill less will not hurt you

how many SBs has Dak won?

that’s “perspective “

How many Super Bowls has our highest paid runningback ever won? I'll wait. How many Super Bowls have the "best runningback in the NFL" won since the 90s? I'll wait.

QBs are more important, I agree Dak will be overpaid but that's where we are because we allowed it to get to this point.

Didn’t Emmitt hold out after a Super Bowl or 2 and being the leagues leading rusher?

This is not the same at all. If Dak had some post season success nobody would be talking and Dallas would’ve already paid him.

Totally agree, too many of these guys feel entitled and want something before they earn it.

i didn’t support Zeke getting paid

Lead the team to meaningful success in the post season then I’ll support you

Fake fans, his endorsement money has nothing to do with what the team is paying him. Just like your employer reducing your salary, for selling on eBay.

I agree with Emmitt. I didn't want Zeke paid THAT much.....BUT...Zeke's career ...the "prime" of it, is VERY short.

And yes, btw...I do want zeke to stop the "I'm coming out bro" hand motion.
