Look around at some of the top QB's. Brees, Rodgers, Brady …. none reached their peak by year 4. Why is it necessary to assume Dak has? Hell, this past year was entirely different than the previous 3. There obviously are still things to work on, but he clearly showed he can do more with his arm than the more conservative offenses of his first few seasons. Why can't he build on that.
By the way, before anyone claims I am, I am not saying Dak is the equivalent of Brees, Rodgers and Brady, I'm merely pointing out that growth and development doesn't have to pek by a player's 4th season.
Rodgers wasn't a starter until his fourth year and Brady had won two Super Bowls by his fourth year. Brees was mired in San Diego but still manage to win the division and make the playoffs in his fourth year.
Dak has had four years starting, and that with the best running back in football, one of the best offensive lines and, I dare say, better receivers than Brees, Rodgers or Brady had in their first four seasons (LT, notwithstanding).
Nevertheless, I think Dak has room to grow. This is going to be a very telling year for him, IMO. New coach who is an offensive-minded coach. This year, Dak needs to take a next step. The ceiling is getting lower each season.
