Listening to the Break. These guys are out of their minds. They think Haha is a wash for Jeff Heath. LMAO. They also think Collins/Woods are about equal to McCoy/Poe.

they all believe this team is worse than it was a year ago.

Well we do still have Woods lol.

And from what Ive heard HaHa is going to play FS. So you cant really make a comparison. Heath is not a good starting SS. Him and Woods might be a wash, but HaHa is an upgrade at the FS position over Woods.

its all rhetorical opinions, no one knows how they will come together and gel here but even if its wash , which most likely it is NOT, we had big holes to fill and we are doing a pretty good job at it plus the draft still left to complete..

all teams accept those with little changeover in staff or personnel may be worse , the same ,or better..its an unknown for a lot of teams yearly..

we have upgraded our ST correct? thats huge , most likely cost us 2 games, our Defense is at least as good and offense is nearly all coming back and were a top 5 offense and led in yardage etc..
we upgrade coaching staffs havent we?

how the defense comes together is the unknown but I think 10-6 isnt out of the question..

Who's currently on that show? With all of the changes and people moving around, I don;t even know? And are "they" all saying such nonsense?

And first of all, Clinton-Dix is not replacing Heath, Woods is. Ha Ha is this team's free safety. Anyone that doesn't even know that much doesn't have an informed opinion from the jump.

McCoy > Collins - maybe not long-term but right now

Poe > Woods

Clinton-Dix >>>>>>> Heath

The biggest issue right now is that drop off at CB1 between Byron Jones and Anthony Brown/Maurice Canady is more significant than any of those upgrades. Chido is a decent #2 and Lewis is a good slot/nickel, but if Anthony Brown is asked to shut down #1's on the outside, we are in big, big trouble.

The dropoff in pass rush from Quinn to 'whoever gets reinstated' is still a concern as well.

Awuzie is your #1 right now

Not that it changes anything you said, bc it doesn't. But he's our best cb and will be the #1 if this was our group of cbs

Have to hope Lawrence improves his pass rush numbers from last year..get better push from the inside guys..and that the combination of the reinstated guys + Crawford can match Quinn..

Please don't mention Crawford with pass rush. Certainly not when talking about the outside pass rush.

Thanks.

It's called Cowboy morbidity.

It happens whenever there is too much pressure to perform and there are road blocks ahead.

It's like when you look in your side view mirror on the car and it says..

"Objects may be closer than they appear".

It's a warning.

I have still cracked my bumper twice even with a backup camera installed.

Whatever.

Well as of right now....I would say this team as a whole is worse. That can be swayed based on them coming out of this draft with at least 2 starters though.

If I had to pick one definitive answer at this point? Better or worse?

Yeah, I'd have to agree.

Crawford will at least provide 2-3 sacks..when you add..4+4+3..you can get quinns production

Yep. And I do think McCarthy is going to have this team going. We are going to see a lot of slow starts eliminated next season and that should result into better player from this team alone. But personnel-wise? I can't say its better. Defensive tackle is for sure better. I'd even say safety is better though I can also understand the argument for why some would say its not.

Yes, I agree with you on all counts. I expect pass rush to improve solely based on creativity, scheme, and increased blitzing.

I definitely think that defensive tackle is much improved, by leaps and bounds. And that should help a lot. And I think that safety is marginally improved as well.

I think that Clinton-Dix and either Woods or Donovan Wilson (yes I think he gets a fair shot at the job) at SS is a better pair than Heath and Woods were in 2019.

But the losses of Quinn and Byron Jones still loom large, depending on what if anything else we do in free agency and the draft.

And the loss of Cobb at slot receiver is significant as well. Not to do something crazy like drafting a receiver high in the draft, but a need to be filled all the same.

Hard to say we’re better now than we were a year ago at this time when you lose 4 defensive starters including your top pass rusher from last season and your best corner, along with your third receiver who had a solid season. McCoy and Poe are both past their primes and Carolina had the fourth worst rushing defense in the league with both of them. As for Ha Ha he hasn’t been that good which resulted in the Cowboys signing him to a one year prove it deal. The Cowboys are his fourth team.

Only my opinion, but I agree with them on Dix. Seriously, he's not all that great IMO. Collins and Woods, I don't believe Collins had a very good season but he is younger. Woods is a really good young player to me but he's never approached the level that Poe has. Poe is a load if he's healthy. He's a difference maker but the problem is, how often is he truly healthy? That's the issue to me. I think the real area you can't point to and say that this team might be worse is WR, RDE and Center. WR and RDE are real issues but Center, we just aren't going to be as good there IMO. You can't teach what Fredbeard knew. That's just reality.
