What impact does limited or potentially no fans have on teams

Not turning this into a political debate so leave that out of here.

If the season starts with either limited capacity stadiums or no fans at all, what impact does that have on teams?

I think for New Orleans, Seattle and KC it could be 1-2 games difference at home. While we’ll never know the true extent, there’s been questions how much Kellen changed the game plan last year in NO to accommodate crowd noise. Without fans, it’s just another dome game.

For Jacksonville and the Chargers, they should have a leg up since they don’t play in front of packed houses anyway.

Dallas I think it hurts more on the non conference road games than it does at home. Cowboys fans travel as well as Packers or Steelers fans.

Would Jerry and Stephen still be in a suite in an empty stadium?

I think it's basically no difference.

Crowds don't matter much anymore.

It will dampen the home field advantage for the majority of the teams. Crowds produce energy and noise and it makes a difference when its quieted. How many times have we heard announcers talk about the crowd being silenced or having the life sucked out of them when the visiting team scores or makes a big play? Often....

At first it will have an affect. But after a couple of games the players will know what to expect and the shock or surprise element of no crowd will wear off.

It might lead to less upsets. The better coach and team might win more frequently. Underdogs at home won't be able to rely on emotion from the fans.

There is no home field advantage.

How are fans gonna like watching games without crowd noise? The energy that feeds players also makes the TV viewing more exciting. I'm thinking it's gonna be creepy if we have games and no fans.

What happens if a player or players on a team test positive for covid-19? Will they be forced to sit out? What happens if a team has too many out to field a team?

Oh its gonna be HUGE. Especially for teams who travel well. Cowboys receive a edge on the road since their fans travel well. Probably won't effect the Cowboys much at home however.

See I'm torn between feeling how you feel and feeling like we will see more upsets. I feel like it evens the playing field more with no crowds.

Since all teams would face the same situation it is neither and advantage or disadvantage

I think it would effect it somewhat. Some places can get quite loud and disrupt signal calling....and nerves.

If there are no fans all season it sets up the most talented teams to win. Home field advantage won’t lead to any upsets.

Its a luxury that's gone for teams like the Cowboys who travel well though. Makes the games played on a more neutral field so the home teams won't have that advantage anymore.

I just do not see it being any advantage or disadvantage since all teams will face the same situation. It will come down to playing ball and out performing the other team. Only home field advantage will be one team does not have to travel and stay at the hotel. lol I get what you are saying but in the end if all teams are faced with the same situation then in reality there is no advantage or disadvantage

I think it has a huge impact. Some of these stadiums that generate great crowd noise it just seems unfair at times.

When it gets so loud that all of the oline cant even hear the snap count, and have to go off a hand hold or thigh tap from the guard to know the ball is snapped its huge. Protection calls get mixed up, changing/killing a play gets complicated, etc.

There is a reason players/fans have complained about the country club environment at jerryworld for years.

Bull. Players play for two reasons...money and love of the game. Fans on attendance for 2020 has 0 impact on wither of those.

Yes there is that adrenaline rush of a roaring crowd, but I have serious concerns about a players desire if they dont want to play because of no fans.
