Correct me if I am wrong, but didn’t the Cowboys gave Dez #88 before he earn anything?

Lol because we know all the information we need to know.

Lamb openly wants 10.

Jerry openly wants him to wear 88.

You hoping that there is some other silver lining is silly.

Lamb will come out and give the company line eventually and say the right things.

Lamb saying he was going to wear #10 the night he was drafted does not = "Lamb doesn't want to wear #88" which you and many here are parroting.

We have no clue what he wants. We have no clue what he and Jerry discussed. This is all guessing and trying to find something to get angry about.

Do you draft a player, and then after a couple of years say ok here take this other number you've earned it? Like what the hell are you even saying? It's not earning. Lamb said he models his game after Hopkins. He had his own personal reasons for wanting to wear #10, should've just gave him what he wanted.

Players should wear whatever number they choose from the list of available numbers. If they are so inclined on a specific number, they can pay the current holder for that number, as has been done for years.

Completely stupid and meddlesome. This is a classic Jerry move.

not surprised, hope he doesn't let the pressure of wearing it get to him and I hope he lives up to the tradition.

lol.... 1st we do not know how McCarthy feels about it or if he was asked if he wanted to deal with Dez. This 88 outrage is based on Dez, no outrage when others were given that Jersey but now it is taboo. Dallas moved on, they have some very good talent at WR.
No, it's actually not re: Dez (or at least not for myself).

Personally, I don't even think that Dez should have gotten it and that 88 should have ended with Irvin.

The number is nothing more than a retread at this point and just gets cheapened with every shiny new 88 that gets printed with a new name on the back of it.

This team was fortunate enough to have him fall into our lap, Lamb made it clear on what number he was wanting to wear, and then Jerry has to guilt him into honoring a dead friend of his (who just so happened to be this year) to wear 88 because they share the same last name? That's creepy even for Jerry.

Oh well, I guess at the end of the day it saves myself from buying a Lamb jersey so I guess that's the one positive here.

Here's my opinion on the jersey number that Lamb should wear, first off he doesn't want to wear #88, so let the guy wear his number of choice (#10). I personally think that the #88 shouldn't be worn by anyone for a while because of the expectations that come with that particular number with the Cowboys.

He doesn’t need to earn the number.. That is silly.

He just shouldn’t have it forced on him.

88 on him was a bad choice if for no other reason then it just won’t look right.

If Dez can wear 88 right outta college, why not Lamb? lol

What are facts dope? That Dez didn't win a championship? Yep. agree 100%, won NOTHING.. Glad he has the TD record.. that is amazing <sigh>
This franchise hasn't won a championship since 96, you know..back when you weren't looking like Larry Holmes, flabby and sick.

Classic Jerry.

Look around the league. WRs no longer desire to wear #s in the 80s. Let the kid choose his number like everyone else.

Not sure why you are getting personal. Guess the argument is over. So sorry about your boy Dez. He was a decent player for the Cowboys for a couple years but the ship has sailed. Sorry buddy.

What if Jerry Lamb wore #67?

Nowhere else in pro sports does this go on with the owner and players.

Why make the guy wear a number he doesnt want to right out of the box? Lamb will say he doesnt care but he does, and should.

Jerry just can't figure out when he needs to back off.
