It's cut-down day and one's gotta go. Who gets the pink slip????

Hill is a young and cheap player but immature with questionable work ethic.

Crawford is the complete opposite ....hard worker, excellent leadership, lot of dirty work that doesn't show in stats but expensive ( final year of his current deal).

let’s give Tomsula a chance to coach up the kid.

TCrawford is near the end of his career.

I am not a fan but Hill. Crawford is a very limited player that is way too expensive.

Keep Hill. Easy choice.

Crawford should be on the trading block. If the Cowboys don't get any offers, then he should be on the cutting block.

I'd be thrilled to get a 4th for Crawford. A 3rd would be a dream come true.

Who gives a 3/4 for a 30 year old vet with a history of injuries coming off surgery? Has that ever happened in the history of the league?

I'm keeping Hill.
We know what we have in Crawford.
I still have a shred of hope for Hill.

I get why people have been down on Crawford. At his best he is slightly an above average player, yet he signed a contract to be more than that. Oh, well.. that’s how contracts go. Not everyone you sign is going to out perform their contracts. Likewise, you’ll have rookies bust and some out perform their rookie deals (I.e.- Dak Prescott). But I believe most folks under appreciate what Crawford does to help others on the DL perform better. I watched a video that showed how much Crawford helped release Lawrence during stunts.. a lot. I personally believe part of Lawrence severe decline of sacks last year, is bc Crawford miss most of last season. Crawford is an intelligent player that understands his roll to help the players around him. Whether folks want to admit it or not.. we sorely missed him last season. That said, after his hip injuries, I’m not sure how he’ll perform this season. But if he is healthy, as he claims, he’ll be a valuable piece to our DL regardless of how much he is paid.

As far as Hill is concerned.. I don’t have a lot of faith in this player. Bryan Broaddus said part of his problem is he’s immature and didn’t care much about playing hard last year(btw-this also was a rumor during his college career). So much so.. Marenilli, the coach that advocated drafting him, even gave up on him mid season. Hence the reason he didn’t play much. Kinda sad. I suppose there’s a chance Hill realizes his “once in a lifetime opportunity” and can transform himself this year.. but some people just can’t self reflect (I.e.-David Irving). If Hill continues this trend, I’d rather see Dallas flip him for a late Rd draft pick before McCarthy sends him packing.

No other team in the league would pay $8 million for Tyrone Crawford, much less give up value to do so.

Only in Dallas.

Cut Hill. No need to worry about Cap Space for this season so who cares about how much Crawford is getting paid

I would hope the play on the field would determine outcome. Hill has to show he is worth keeping, last year was a complete bust not even being activated in several games. Crawford on the other hand while he may not have lived up to his contract he is in the last year and is much more productive than Hill has shown. Let them battle and let the play on the field determine who stays and who goes.

I got a feeling Hill is gonna prove everybody wrong....and show up....in shape....ready to ball. Kid flashed big time potential in college.

Just saying...

We'd be basing our opinions of Hill on what exactly? That he didn't suit up for Marinelli last season? Hill had 121 defensive snaps last year compared to Crawford's 90, before he was injured. Hill had 5 tackles, 4 solo and 1 for a loss. He also had 2 QB hits and no sacks. Crawford had 90 defensive plays, 3 tackles 1 solo, 1 for a loss, 2 QB hits and 1 sack, playing DE. Neither player played a substantial amount but for what they did play, they had comparable stats.

Crawford is supposedly a great locker room guy and I value those guys a lot. Hill is reportedly a slacker who does not work hard, fell asleep in one important meeting and showed up late for the same meeting (and possibly others).

Maybe Hill was the wrong draft choice but at this point they are short of DTs. I think he has potential if they can get him to improve his work ethic. Maybe a guy like McCoy can help with that. In any case, I think its too early to pull the plug. He did not embarrass himself when he got a chance to play last year. Crawford is a good guy but chances are he is gone after this season anyway. Tough call, but I would take the risk with Hill.

Trade Hill right now while you can before we lose him to free agency or gets cut in the next year or two.
He would have very little trade value, and he is still 3 seasons away from free agency, so that's not a near term concern. I would like to see if he has a chance to develop, because that's the only chance of getting any value out of him.
