Final cut down, can only keep Tyrone Crawford or Trysten Hill

- Trysten is 100% a DT version of Taco. Bust. The same dumb-*** DC pushed to overdraft them, then quickly realized he couldn't handle their tantrums and dropped 'em.*** (note at bottom)

- Tyrone was/is overpaid by virtue of his past several years of not being fully healthy or even available. Even when he first got his contract, coming off some good years, it was seen as an overpay. Money and constant shoulder injuries is the dilema with Crawford, not ability, focus or heart.

So anyway, it's still a no-brainer. Only one of these players can and has played NFL football. The other is a confused, immature, overdrafted bust.

***Rod was a snake-oil salesmen in the way he sold himself as a "D-line Whisperer". He claimed to be able to tame the young misfits/malcontents, while also reviving/sparking production out of veteran free agents. Dude was a fraud and wasted oppurtunites to improve our defense (through draft, FA and coaching).

Rod was god awful. Taco and Hill were so bad of picks. Terrible. Those were all him. He pushed hard for both. Such a waste. 1st and 2nd rd picks and neither will give us anything. TJ Watt still on the board and we take freaking Taco! That just can't happen. And yeah, where was his D-line whispering at? He never did anything with that unit. They were a let down year after year. Rod hated anyone with talent.

Based on what exactly? He's been a Cowboy for all of 14 months. He hasn't had a chance to prove himself yet. How is that a obvious mistake?

Maybe the fact that he was terrible off the field and hardly ever on it.

It's one thing to 'need work', it's quite another to not put that work in yourself.

The chances he has had have been squandered, to the point that the coach that campaigned for him was 'done with him'. Indictments don't get much worse.

Fair point.
Might as well ride it out now.

Well...……….if we were going to sign a guy like Griffin, fine, dump him. But with two question marks like Gregory and Aldon I think we need a solid veteran that is at least stout against the run at RDE.

Another good point.
It appears there are still some red flags on Griffin.
But yes, he would be a great addition on the field.

Does anyone know how much Griffin wants?

I read where he is betting on getting more than the $13.9M he was
slated to make on the Vikings roster.

He's going to be tied to Clowney, who has dropped from $20M to #17M.
Seattle is willing to pay $15M so that may work itself out.

Griffen is 32, for whatever that's worth these days.
Supposedly, Baltimore is/was looking at signing him.

That's all I could find.

Looks like he missed him mark on his gamble.

If you've been through camp and you've seen two things....

A starter at RDE, AND that Hill seems to care in the slightest, you keep Hill.

We already know all about what Crawford isnt, and Hill has potential, and we are moving 8M to 2021.

They have to find a spot for Hill regardless. You cant cut a 2nd round pick going into year two.

He would get picked up in a second and if he goes elsewhere and produces, that bad situation just got way worse.

If Hill doesn't show vast improvement both on the field and off, I wouldn't have any hesitation in cutting him. Leopards don't change their spots. His behavior thus far has been far worse than even Taco's, which has been enough to already have him floundering to his 3rd team.

I wouldn't fear a guy that doesn't know how to play football suddenly 'getting it' and applying himself. All of the onus to change the narrative is on Hill.

A 4th or 5th round pick in return for a trade?

he is considered trash around here, most want to get rid of him including yourself.... so now our trash is a treasure to somebody?

and 4th or 5th is way way way too much, for a guy who is a utility player at best, starter out of desperation, with no real position, on the wrong side of 30, coming off two surgeries and been injured this past year and was never dominant anytime in his career on anything........if there is a player like this available, would you pay a 4th or 5th? and give up on a chance to draft someone with potential of Anae or Robinson?

he won't garner a pick from anyone...if anything teams will wait until he is cut and then sign him if they want...if someone really thinks highly of him, then a 7th at best...I mean at best, perhaps from a superbowl contender, that wants a little bit of depth assurance and who is desparate.... I seriously doubt if he is trade worthy though...

..I'm surprised Crawford is still on team. He was avg at best. As for Trysten, I saw nothing that made him prominent emphasis on him being top pick. That pick will have me scratching my head for while.

Crawford is better than he’s given credit for. He only played four games last season and had a sack. He’s had 20 sacks the past five seasons despite missing 16 games. He had 5.5 sacks in 2018. He’s an effort guy. Losing him last season and Hill’s disappointing season caused us to trade for Bennett. Crawford can mix it up in there and we missed him last season.

Dallas isn't a contender this season so I'd keep hill to see what he can do in the future. We already know what crawford is.

The light doesnt typically go on for immature males between the ages of 20 and 21.

If he hasn't seen the writing on the wall as we speak, he wont anytime soon.

I wrote in another post that they likely need his roster spot before he gets it.

In fairness to him, I'd love to know exactly what went on between him and Rod.

It seemed to me that Rod sold them that he could make this kid great and make up for not having a first rounder. They seemed to zero in on him from the beginning, probably knowing he would be there.

Then he ended up in the doghouse, and it's been said that theres no way out of Rods bad side.

I cant stand Marinelli to the point where I almost want to give Hill some benefit of doubt.

The new staff knows the deal, and I'm pretty sure we will know very early in camp what's going to become of Hill.

I doubt they can move him for anything of value. Didnt everyone else have like a 5th round grade on the guy? Not sure.

oh, thought you were talking about Crawford.my bad

but with that said, I take it back. no one would trade anything for hill... he is not trade material. bad attitude is well known. he was a reach in the 2nd, where reports were most teams had him as a 4th or 5th rounder....and now a year in the NFL. didn't do diddly squat....If there was such a player on another team I would trade for him....same thing, I will wait until camp cuts and pick him up if I was really interested.

I'm sure the new staff will let him start fresh with a clean slate, but they also won't be stuck with him as none of them had anything to do in drafting him. Those people were 'let go'.

I think he either sinks or swims based on his own merits and nothing is guaranteed or given to him, not even a roster spot, nor should it.

As I've said, the pressure is on the player, not anyone else.

I doubt they can move him for anything of value. Didnt everyone else have like a 5th round grade on the guy? Not sure.

I think 4th round comes to mind as to what the rest of the league thought of him. Dallas over-drafted him and the player has shown himself to be a bust to this point.

I have a question, how does a team go from the Taco Charleton, Trysten Hill drafts to the great draft we had this year?? Who or what changed this off season to finally get things right this year.
