MM needs to convince Jerry to trade Dak for Adams. An even trade nothing more and nothing less. The Cowboys will be in excellent shape with Dalton. If you compare between Dak and Adams. Who is demanding a ridiculous pay raise and has become very arrogant and very self centered? Dak.

I will take Adams in a heart beat before I take Dak. Only time will tell what exactly is going to happen. July 15th is around the corner.

Remember, it's been proven a backup QB can win a Superbowl & become legends.

Dak has become arrogant? He’s one of the most grounded guys I’ve ever seen. He’s not arrogant for letting his agent deal with his best interests. He’s been playing for peanuts (compared to most QBs) and has outplayed a lot of them.

Don’t need him, if he can’t cover players then he is not worth it.
:yourock:^^^this AND THE FACT its a moot point because the Jets have said they won't be trading him. MERCIFULLY, lets move to the next topic instead of chasing unicorns.

Jamal Adams
In 2018, he was targeted 60 times, allowing 33 completions, or 55% catch rate.
In 2019, he was targeted 38 times, allowing 21 completions, or 55.3% catch rate.

Xavier Woods:
In 2018, he was targeted 40 times, allowing 24 completions, or 60% catch rate.
In 2019, he was targeted 33 times, allowing 24 completions, or 72.7% catch rate.

Ed Jackson : Highest paid safety per AAV)
In 2018, he was targeted 54 times, allowing 27 completions, or 50% catch rate.
In 2019, he was targeted 43 times, allowing 23 completions, or 53.5% catch rate.

Now, I haven't watched him a lot, outside of 3 games last year, but he does seem to be quite good in coverage, when looking at it stat wise. A lot of variables come into play, but his coverage % is close to Jackson.

It's easier to cover 5 yard dump offs :muttley::muttley::muttley::muttley:

Ok I’ve seen your posts on this issue the last few days. First and foremost. Teams say all kinds of things and then do the opposite. Look at Ramsey. That’s 1. 2. Adams is second only to JJ Watt with 200 plus tackles 10 plus sacks and 25 plus pass breakups in his first 3 years. So he’s not just a safety. You make it seem like he’s some run of the mill player. He’s not. So let’s see how it plays out but I see this happening.

yup, where he gets in trouble is down the field. Like most safeties. Great player at the line of scrimmage.Creates chaos and turnovers. Stops the ball carrier and can get to the QB.Team leader. The bad is when he has to cover down the seam or gets too aggressive. As long as the asking price comes down and the Jets decide they will trade him, I would listen and like it if we got him. I tust MM would know how to use his talents without putting him on an island too much. The notion he is a good cover guy is funny. Good maybe in short areas like dig routes and such. AGAIN, its all moot, the Jets have no intention of trading him. We need to move on from this bogus story.

we cannot win with ANDY DALTON. Not long term. Trade Dak? lol..that would be cutting off your nose to spite your face. Adams doesnt play QB. Why would the Jets do that? They have Darnold. Dude is a stud. OMG...next

You have a source for that, or is that a baseless claim?
I come in here with stats and links, where's yours to prove all he does is cover 5 yard routes?

But it's funny to see you move the goalposts right away.
First, he couldn't cover, and now it's "easy" to cover 5 yard dump offs.

"Adams does it all on the Jets' defense. In 2019 alone, he played 75 or more snaps at edge defender, in the box, in the slot and deep at free safety, and he did it all well. Adams has earned grades of 75.0 or higher as a run defender, tackler, pass-rusher and coverage defender in each of the past two seasons — at times even serving as the Jets' best edge rusher."
https://www.newyorkjets.com/news/ja...has earned grades of,Jets' best edge rusher."

He plays in more positions than just a box safety, and when he's there he's a legit playmaker.

Adams.gif

In the last two seasons, Adams has played 889 snaps in the box (42.7%), 578 snaps at free safety (27.8%), 303 snaps in the slot (14.5%), 234 snaps on the line of scrimmage (11.2%) and 74 snaps at outside cornerback (3.5%), grading well at each spot.

I mean, look at that 5 yard dumpoff coverage.

All the way to all those playoff wins and SBs. Let’s get a starter. Dak’s holding us back. Let another team pay for his mediocrity.
