Hi, I am a new member from Melbourne, Australia.
I started watching NFL in 2014 and became a Cowboys fan a year ago.
Being from Aus it was easier to watch College games (time difference I guess) as Sunday NFL games are very early Monday mornings here sometimes starting 3:30am-5:30am... ESPN would show Ohio State a lot on weekends and I became a big fan of Elliott before he was drafted so that probably had an impact on my team choice

Welcome BDE, there are many different reasons why fans select teams and yours is a good one. I did that with the Chargers when they drafted Lance Alworth, my childhood idol and I still get a warm fuzzy for the Bolts.

I became a full time Cowboys fan in a loss. They lost the NFL Championship game in Green Bay but they fought so hard in the worse conditions I'd ever seen that they won me over and I've been one ever since, although my passion has waned severely over the last years.

Let's throw shrimp on Barbie! I ate Brunswick Stew off of a Barbie one time but I think it's time for shrimp and shots out of her belly button.

Interesting that you switched, was it after Alworth retired?.
Does your area not have an NFL team or are you an international fan?

When Alworth came to the Cowboys, that was a great day and the fact he caught a TD in the SB made me giddy. However, I still have a soft spot for the Chargers and the Cardinals.

I grew up in Little Rock, AR, and out minor league baseball club was tied to the Cardinals so we got all of the St. Louis teams' games on one of our 3 channels. I was a Cards/Cowboys fan when they began to show some Cowboys games and when they met in 1966 they were both undefeated and I was conflicted as to which to root for and that's when I got my Cowboys lean. 1968 Ice Bowl sealed the deal and I never looked back.

:starspin::welcome::star: @BigDakEnergy! We're happy that you've joined us. It doesn't carry much weight here, but I think you have excellent taste in NFL teams. I tried to be daddy's favorite (he controlled the money) and rooted for the Cowboys with him. Somewhere in my twisted, and might I add none the richer, plot I became attached to the Cowboys. The Saints are in my state and I enjoyed the days when they wore paper bags on their heads. I'm a lot less tolerant with them after they won one Super Bowl and thought they were equal to the Cowboys. Rookies!

We lived in Perth for about 5 years. Work took me to Melbourne about 3 or four times each year. Love the city... One of our absolute favorites.

West Coast Eagle fan.
