Which movie is more believable, Independence Day or Battleship?

I have an argument going w/ my nephew.

All things considered, which movie is more believable:

Independence Day

Battleship


I know, I know, neither is believable. However, our argument is over which of these two is MORE believable.

Independence Day is more believable.

In Battleship the aliens maneuvered through our asteroid field, around all of our planets and their moons, only to hit a satellite. Then when they got here they couldn't fly? How stupid is that? So they flew here, but couldn't fly here. Really?

Which Quick Silver (CGI) effects do you like best. The ones from the Avenger movie's or the X-Men movies?

Me, the X-Men's are better, IMO.

the only thing i didnt like about ID4 were the way the aliens looked.
i thought they'd look more like the "greys"...but i do give them credit for wanting a different look...more of a creature look.
just not my preference.
