I think Dak will sign a long term deal today just ahead of the deadline.
I expect it will be for 5 years with an AAV of 36M. 180M
110M GTD.
Cowboys option on year 5.
Same bonus structure as Pat. 1.25M for each SB appearance and 1.25M for any MVP awards.

i think he plays on the franchise tag this year and next and they draft a qb and he moves on

Bingo! 3 of the last 6 games we play this year are against the 49ers, Ravens and apparently MIGHTY Eagles defenses. It will further expose his weakness against tough defenses.

At least Dakota still gets to play the crap defenses of the Commanders and Giants 4 times to beef up on the stats....... but in the end the results are predictable

Right under what Wilson got on a 5 year deal. But more than goff got for guaranteed. Maybe 5 years 35.5 per year and 115-120 guaranteed. 4 year out for both. That forces them back to the table after 4 years. 5 year deal is what JJ wants and back to the table after 3 or 4 is what Dak wants. And 20-30 million signing bonus.

Can they push money into an option year? Because thats why Dallas wants to 5th year

They will resign him after 4 years and use the 5th to spread the money out. That’s why they want 5 years. And the will have it set up so that they 5th year will owe Dak a bunch of money so they will want to go back to the table.

Less than 3 hours to go.
Any one watching impatiently? :muttley:

I'm not. I have better things to do. Plus I do not think anything gets done, and if it does, I will find out from an alert on my phone.

he signs a 5 year deal, fully guaranteed at signing, the 5th year has an opt out for Dak only. The only way I see this working.

I think Dak is set on a four year deal, like Goff and Wentz before him. The only question is will Jerry cave (again).

Dak can make $68 million on the tag for two years then be a free agent still in his 20s. He has no reason to cave.

I still say that considering what the alternative is for EACH side, there wasn't enough of a gap here to not get a deal done.

Someone must have really irritated the other one.

Jerry signs his guys and is generous to a fault.

Unfortunately that apparently isn't enough for the great #4.

Guy is running the risk of going to like Jacksonville or Cleveland for a few extra bucks.

I think he's playing on the tag. I don't see Dak budging off the 5 years unless that 5th year jumps in value and I don't see Dallas going to 4 years unless it's below $35...maybe $34 million.

Yeah the agent pulling the plug on the pretty much agreed to deal after 3 games last year probly angered the FO.

The thing is, Goff and Wentz, deals were extensions. They are contracted for 5 or 6 years. Dak has no contract to extend.

Then if true, betting on yourself was very advantageous.
