You hold out a year early for money and disrupt what could have been a contending team and then qualify your own production that season by noting you didn’t even attend training camp and still were productive...you do all that and you earn some criticism. Give me the comparable player who doesn’t hold out and doesn’t constantly do stuff to get suspended, please. Put respect on that guy’s name, instead.

imagine typing this out

long td runs are a bad thing now because Zeke can't do them lol

That’s not what I said.

Barkley ranks 15th in the league in rushing yards per game (61.6), just behind the undrafted Phillip Lindsay of Denver. But that figure hides how inefficient Barkley is on a per-game basis: As Vincent Verhei of Football Outsiders wrote this week, Barkley’s rushing yardage overwhelmingly comes from breakaway runs for long gains, but he barely gets any yardage on the majority of his carries. That dichotomy was exemplified Sunday, when Barkley earned 50 yards on two carries and negative-2 yards on his other 13.

Unlike Barkley, Zeke has been forcing defenses into man looks since he came on the Cowboys. Barkley is not going to wear out defenses at all. And before you blame the Giants, this goes back to his college years.

Over the past 17 quarters, Barkley has run for 297 yards on 76 carries, a deceiving 3.9 yards per carry. Of that total, three runs — 53 yards vs. Northwestern, 69 vs. Michigan and 36 vs. Ohio State — account for 158 yards, which is 53% of his overall rushing yardage during that time. Three runs = half of all yards. Not a formula for success.

That means for his other 73 carries, he’s rushed for just 139 yards — a 1.9-yard average. And of those 73 carries, 32 were for a single yard or less (44% of all carries).

Talking about McCaffery, the Panthers were 29th in runs on first down, meaning the lack of predictability in play calling by Norv was a key to his numbers. Dallas has been 1, 3, 6, and 11 in the last four years with Zeke as RB, meaning Dallas has been running him predictably. The only reason they were 11th last year is because of throwing so much and playing from behind.

It was different for the Panthers last year when Newton was healthy for the first 8 games. Panthers were then 12. When Panthers has Schula, call me averaged 3.7 yards PC.

Booger isn't alone among those in the League or formerly affiliated with the League.

McCaffrey, Henry, Chubb were all better than Zeke last year. Kamara and Barkley are also probably better than Zeke.

how long has it been since Zeke took one to the house?

Barkley averaged 4.6 per carry on much fewer carries. Kamara averaged 4.7 on much fewer carries. Elliott averaged 4.5 and had 84 more carries than Barkley and 130 more than Kamara. Generally, the more carries you have, the more it negatively affects your average.

McCaffrey, Henry and Chubb were better averagewise with a similar amount of carries. They were also better averagewise in 2018, but their carries were much lower.

So the question is which do you value more, a back who can carry the ball 300 times a season and still average 4.5 per carry or ones who have not shown they can take that kind of pounding year after year. Elliott is the definition of a workhorse.

CM is a beast but how much longer can he do it with no other weapons. Barkley had missed at least 2 games or more the last 2 years, the best ability is availability. Chubb is good along with Alvin but give me the beast.
