Who is the old school QB from decades ago that there’s a picture of him smoking a cigarette on the sidelines.

I love that picture.

I just hope he turns into a playmaker instead of a caretaker.

Maybe the Jones’s won’t see him as terrible value.

Wow, really? OK, well, he has been. And BTW, that's why the word "possibly" was included in the post. I guess I should be happy that this post is not about Dak's weight.

Here is a link about such discussion.

First off you didn't say that you were quoting an article you just said it and you didn'y use possibly you used perhaps (yes means the same thing). Second that article is based on what fans had voted which holds about as much weight as fans picking the winning lottery numbers 10 times in a row. Let me know when some group like the HOF'ers or at least former players and GM's pick the best QB of all time.

It's actually not an uncommon claim.

Unitas is widely regarded as one of the best football players of all time because of not only his accolades, but how he was more or less the prototype for the modern era QB. His game was way ahead of his time.

Most of the numerous passing records he held stood true for 30-40 years as well and were broken by people like Favre, Manning, Warner, and Brees. Pretty good company if you'd ask me.

Like I said I've heard and read that Unitas was considered as one of the best QB's OF HIS TIME as well as Starr, but I can honestly say I've never heard or read anything that said Unitas was the greatest in the history of the game. Unitas and Starr where constantly compared with Starr as the 1st and only QB to lead his team to 3 consecutive NFL championships and the first QB to win back to back Super Bowls. Unitas may have had better all around passing numbers but he didn't win like Starr did. It's pretty much a moot point now though because like you said what records Unitas set have been broken.

Why would I have to say that I was quoting an article, even if I was, which I was not. There is no rule that says posters must do this. I have no idea how old you are but for many, many years, it was widely discussed that Unitas was the greatest QB in the history of the game. You don't hear that anymore, just like you don't hear Otto Graham discussed as the greatest or many others. Doesn't mean that they may not have been. Also doesn't mean that they are but one thing is certain, the statement has been made in the past and there are certainly those who do give or have given it credence.

You statement about fans is speculation. First of all, you don't know who voted. You don't know the knowledge base, you don't know anything about them. But here is what you do know, the statement has been made in the past, he has been called this and isn't that what your argument is about?

Lastly, it is not my job to let know anything. Go figure it out and understand that there is a lot of life before you ever showed up on the face of the earth. Understand that you aren't that important in the grand scheme of things and that nobody is going to go out of their way to make you understand that you don't know crap about who or what Johnny Unitas was. If you don't agree that John Unitas was the greatest QB of all time, then that's fine, you don't have to. I don't either but that doesn't mean that there are not those who believe that.

Have a great weekend.

Yes Len Dawson thank you and thank you to @Typhus

you’re right it is in the locker room. I just googled it.

I only ever saw the up close, black and white version of the picture and didn’t notice it’s taken indoors. But seeing the color photos and more of the surrounding, it is in the locker room.

This picture is amazing. I love it.

Yes that’s the one! Absolutely classic. A modern trainer in the NFL would help an aneurism if they walked in on a player smoking a cigarette during halftime or right after a game. Lol

Dak looks like he is in great shape. Did he lose weight?
I hope Zeke lost weight and get back some of the speed he had.
