I know he fell asleep during a meeting but who said he didn't work hard?
This.

I just find it interesting that the guy who struggled over him was the very guy who we fired at year end.

Marinelli just completely failed to make the defense a meaningful part of what should have been a playoff team.

When we say how Dak struggled with good teams..Marinelli spit the bit against so many lesser teams.

If I was Trystan Hill..I would play with a deep wound to show he was poorly judged and by the wrong guy.

When I think of Taco and his failures and followed by Hill and his..

it's just important we place blame where due.

Taco actually improved once traded away and ended up with 5 or 6 sacks as I recall.

Love to see Hill do that under these new coaches.

We shall see.

No question........all I'm saying is some fans are giving up on these kids wayy too fast. Good lord, was just a rookie last year and some wanted him gone.

Agree 100% the kid’s a baby in terms of the NFL he certainly wouldn’t be the first for the last guy that doesn’t figure it out right away. He’s clearly got talent. Hopefully the light went on for him.

The Cowboys need Trysten Hill to be a contributor. It's more than his performance being a bonus if he produces - they lost their buffer when Gerald McCoy went down. Here's hoping that he remains focused, open to being coached, and continues to put the work in. He has tools to work with, but needs to develop better core strength and a plan when rushing the passer.

Many of us can relate.

Have you ever been hired for a job and you can tell that your employer and some employees feel like you are taking too long to contribute as expected? Looking back, I sometimes think that managers and long time employees forgot what it was like to be new. Anyway, you are learning at your particular pace and then one day it happens. You wake up, go to work, and you just get in this mode where your understanding of the job meets your work ethic and you start taking off.

Some people pick things up quickly, good for them. However, there are those that take a little longer but once they have a full understanding of what is needed, they become extremely productive. Later down the road these fellow employees will confide that they didn't know whether or not you were going to make it. My personal feeling was always that efficiency is a combination of speed and accuracy and it's better to get the accuracy down before you begin to work on the speed.

Then again, sometimes it takes an event, a wake up call if you will. Sometimes you have to get challenged, get a chip on your shoulder. nobody thinks I am going to succeed, well, I'll show them! i hope Hill got that wake up call and is now responding to it.

Progress of Trysten Hill Hasn’t Gone Unnoticed

Hill has gotten plenty of reps with both McCoy injured and Dontari Poe also starting out camp on PUP. Even with Poe now back on the field again, don't expect the reps to decrease for Hill, who has showed the ability play both tackle spots in this scheme.

This is NOT the kind work ethic we've been hearing about..........something's wrong. One word.....patience

Don't tell me how to feel about my news, young man. You report and I'll decide. Just don't listen to the coiners of that phrase since they kinda don't do that. Lol. I kid! I kid!

It's probably a combination of all the things people have said but as I said in another thread, new coaches make everyone a little nervous, and especially so if you didn't have a good reputation with the old ones. Maybe there's fresh hope because you think the new regime will give you a chance to really show what you can do or maybe you're motivated by fear of being seen as "that guy" among the new regime as well. Either way, encouraging to hear and let's hope it starts showing itself on the field. Opportunity is there. Maybe hope is following.

Most of this effusive praise relates to his preparation. But not his actual performance on the field. Don't want to be a negative Nancy, but there is a difference.

Its actually somewhat rare for a person to really change who he is. It is possible though. Hopefully Trysten really figured things out. There are a lot of physically talented young football players out there. The ones who are successful at the highest level are usually the ones that work the hardest.

One thing I'm sure of is that we'd all be in trouble if everybody judged us by our past mistakes.

It's another year and a better Tristen Hill, by the looks of things. Rookies do improve in year 2.
