-Excited to see our entire draft class and a few undrafted fa's make the team. This is a young man's league and you have to add quality, cheap talent on a year to year basis. On paper this year's class could be very good for years to come.

-Couple depth areas of concern: Safety, Tackle, Linebacker, Running Back. We are all aware how thin we are at the safety position as the signing of Clinton-Dix turned out to be a big miss. Rather see them admit the mistake now, then a few weeks of bad play into the season. Tackle is concerning cause of the loss of Collins to start the year, depth should improve once he and Knight get healthy.

-Really like the depth within the DL. Even with the loss of McCoy and Gregory not allowed to play for the first month of the season. The biggest key will be about T. Hill. If he indeed has taken the next step, this unit could be the most improved. They are absolutely loaded at DE/Edge rushers.

-Excited to see both Lve/Jaylon switching positions. If only they can just return to production levels two seasons ago, this defense as a whole would be greatly improved. Health is a big question mark, not only for these two, but the entire unit. Lee didn't even practice and still got hurt, lol.

-I would like to see Trevon Diggs start day 1. After a slow start, he has shown to be a capable corner with legitimate ball skills. Sure, there will be some growing pains, but rather see him then Brown starting with the hopes of later in the season having a big improvement at the position. In my opinion, Diggs has a tremendous upside potential.

The new scheme helps the Safety position. It was difficult to play Safety in last years scheme, especially SS.

With DC Mike Nolan's multiple front defense, guys like Anae can be considered LBs.

Pollard is a legit backup RB. That better than most past years.

Is Knight injured also? If Collins is expected to be 100% after the 3 games on IR then they should be OK.
- Erving started 8 games at LT last season for the Super Bowl champions and RT is easier for most OT than LT.
- If Knight can't play game 1 and Erving is the starter at RT, then who is the swing Tackle? The Texas Tech kid...yikes.

The DL could be anywhere from awesome to a weak spot on the team.
- They multiple front makes it even hard to predict the overall DL expectations.

In the Marinelli scheme, there was minimal difference in MLB and WLB, especially in the Nickel which was about 70% of the snaps.
- The LB assignments were really more about being the front-side or back-side LB on running plays than WLB or MLB.
- In the Mike Nolan scheme, outside LB is much different than inside LB.

My guess for game 1:
Brown
Awuzie
Diggs (plays outside in Nickel with Brown covering the slot)

If Awuzie injured:
Brown
Diggs
Lewis as the Nickel CB (if healthy)

If Awuzie and Lewis out:
Brown
Diggs
Worley (might cover the slot or might play outside with Brown covering the slot in Nickel)

Diggs may start opposite Brown week one if Awuzie's knee isn't right. That means Daryl Worley in the slot if Jourdan Lewis can't play either. There's a lot of depth at corner but unfortunately it will be tested early.
If the pass rush does as I believe they will, the testing of corner depth won't be all that vigorous.

If Awuzie and Lewis out:

-My guess if Awuzie is inactive, Worley would start as he was backing him up in camp.
-As for Lewis being out, Brown looks like the next man up in the slot, where Diggs would play on the outside.
-If I was a betting man, say everyone is good to go, I think we see Awuzie, Brown as the two starters, with Worley coming in on the outside in the nickel.

Can someone, anyone (lol) tell me why Connor Williams can't move RT a few games for Collins and McGovern play G? This way Erving can stay at swing. Am I missing something?
ask the coaching staff whom i trust more then anyone that rep to your question..

-Yes, I believe Knight is also hurt. Heading in the season, they are awfully thin at the position. I think they would be better off finding an emergency plan for the swing tackle spot at least in game 1. Perhaps one of the Guards could move outside if an injury occurs.

-Not concerned about Erving as he was brought in as an experienced veteran who can spot start if needed. Perhaps they need to give him help at times, but he should be ok as a short-term starter. I am as comfortable with him as I was with Fleming as the backup.

-I might be bullish, but I think Lve if healthy will excel in the middle. He has terrific instincts and legitimate ball skills. With his speed, size and length, he should get his hands on many passes. Let's also not forget, he will have Poe in front of him keeping him more clean. If used right, Jaylon could be very good, he tremendous, straightline burst. He will be playing his more natural position and playing more to his strengths.

If Brown plays well and increases his stock...that's the even better comp pick.

I think in such a short off-season and him coming off of a major injury didn't allow them to see him takes snaps at Tackle in camp. However, we heard he did take some reps at center. I believe in a emergency situation, they could move either Guard to RT if needed.

Oh I thought it was a one year deal my mistake. That’s even better than he’s actually young and here next season.

Many fa's in our defensive backfield next off-season. We could see a lot of attention in that area next yr.

Linebacker has me seriously concerned.

McCarthy isn't an idiot, and I'm sure he has a plan and we don't know it yet, but it doesn't make it any less maddening.

too many moving parts. That is 2 moves, and they don’t know how McGovern will actually do. As same for Williams at RT, as he has not played OT in the NFL yet.

best one change, and allow a player that has actually played OT in the NFL play.
At least to see how they do.
