State of the team: They’re just not good

All the media and fanboys want you to believe that you can win with 3 really good WRs and good DEs.

This is not a 7 on 7 league and it’s not madden.

Losing LVE and Jarwin combined with no Collins for now means if you go by position group and grade them:

QB - A-
RB - A
WR - A
TE - D
OL - C
DE - A-
DT - B
LB - D
CB - B
S - D

No team has all A’s across the board but the positions Dallas is bad at, they’re REALLY bad at. There are way too many holes on this team for it to be a contender right now. No Collins kills the offense and terrible LBs means teams can take the middle of the field all day.

When they got the Rams in 3rd and long the DEs had success. But when you don’t have good LBs it’s hard to get them in 3rd and long consistently.

Hopefully the team can stay around 500 til later in the year if LVE and Collins get fully healthy. Jaylon is not good for anything except 3rd and long when they can use him as a missile into the OL like they did on the sack to free up Thomas.

To many players stealing money from Jerry. It wouldn't bother me one bit to take this most recent draft class plus Gallup, T Smith, Collins, Martin, Zeke, and Pollard and get rid of everyone else. I might be missing a few but I'd gladly start over with those 13 and real coaches.

I posted a few weeks ago the problem with this team is they have too many overrated players and not enough underrated players. This is especially true on defense. The LBs and safeties are atrocious. The DTs are average at best. In this scenario, the DEs and CBs have no chance. I do not understand how we go into every season with problems at safety and never solve it. How bad was Clinton-Dix that they cut him?

Just think, after they drafted LVE we thought we had the best LB group in the NFL. How wrong were we?

Some of the jags need to step up and play better. But instead they play horrible. Connor Williams, Looney, Schultz, Poe, Woods, Crawford, X Woods and guys like that need to up their game a notch or two.

Things that we need to begin rebuilding-
D-Line: D-Law is garbage. Sorry. When someone who’s been out the game for 5 years outplays you, there are issues.
DT’s: Crawford looked as slow as my grandmother. Man. WE NEED SPEED ON THIS TEAM!!!!!! Didn’t even really pay attention to Trysten Hill but I guess I’ll take that as a neutral thing. At least he didn’t do anything boneheaded. He probably got blew up multiple times a game though. We got an injury prone LB in LVE who doesn’t even play that well, and then there’s Jaylon “Clear Eye View” Smith, who’s SEVERELY went downhill since 2018. Sean Lee could probably outplay this despite his age. I don’t know what we’re gonna do when Sean Lee retires .

Secondary: Woooo Boy. It’s rough. I’ll give Diggs a break. A rookie without preseason. He did alright. Chido... Brown.... we just need new corners. Safety- do I need to even explain this one?

As for the offense, honestly, at times they looked great. Despite dropping balls (what would Dallas be if they didn’t drop balls?), they did great. Wish we would’ve went deep more (if our O-line actually held up) considering Gallup, Cooper, and even Lamb did great in my eyes. Zeke looked like rookie Zeke last night. No complaints about him. Dak was good. Not as bad as everyone is making him out to be. Wasn’t 40 milly good but he did his job. Made some good throws and some iffy ones. Can’t complain. Had that Gallup throw not been called back, I likely would’ve praised him for possibly turning the game into a game winning drive. But that O-line.... has seriously deteriorated.

IMO, we need to rebuild the lines. Next year, draft a safety, possibly another DE/DT, and some O-linemen. Get a new punter. If you win at the line, you win the game. Those are the fundamentals. If your D-line is good, you can not only stop the run game, but pressure the QB into making mistakes. Good O-line equals good run game, and enough time in the pocket to make big plays.

Every year we hear the fan boys say " How will the league defend us. " or "pick your poison" Evry year we hear about how good the Lb's are. They f king cant stay on thge field. Im so sick of S lee .

This teak looks to be in serious trouble if last night is any barometer.

This team is constantly building and rebuilding through the draft. Every year we get excited for the new draft picks to be future cornerstones and for whatever reason, they never pan out. We have some good players but no great ones at most of the impact positions. Only Zeke, Martin, and Tyron could be considered elite but a RB can't win a game by himself and an OL can only do so much. However, an elite QB, WR, TE, DE/DT, LB, CB, S can be a game-changer single-handedly (look at what Donald was doing to the OL).

We haven't had multiple elite players at those positions since Ware and Witten. Lee in his prime was an elite LB but does it really matter if you can never play 16 games?

The QB, RB, and WR will have to compensate for the OL. May be harder but need to make more plays than they did last night.

What I find so discouraging is every year we get our hopes up that this will be "The Year". The press always pumps us up. every preseason we are the media darlings. It is without fail.

well watching this team last night tells me what I have known for several years now. The Dallas Cowboys are perpetually just another team who can't get over the hump. year after year they are chasing their tails. So many NFL teams fall into that category. Dallas is just another also ran.

The front office repeatedly makes boneheaded signings on feel good stories like Jaylon and other players who aren't worth half the money they sign them to. And then there's the quarterback. This guy plays like a backup. It's gotten to the point where if they get the ball for the final drive to win the game my whole body just gets numb and I just sit back and can see the inevitable mess play out.

I will always be a dallas fan. It's just a shame to see what's become of this organization.
