I’m trying to grasp the common goal here. We’re “supposedly” going to beat down on these sort of sucky teams across this stretch... and for what? To go to the playoffs and get embarrassed in the divisional round again? No thanks. Browns look like a formidable foe right now with Myles Garrett and their running game. All of our opponents look tough for this team to handle.

Today proved we cannot hang with the contenders. As a matter of fact, the Rams and Atlanta games showed us that too. What’s the point of sitting at the adult table if you’re only going to be fed the scraps that the kids table gets?

We need to focus on rebuilding the defense. Let Washington win this dumpster division, let them get embarrassed and eliminated in the wild card round, we get a higher draft pick, and we spend it all on defense. I know O-line needs to be checked on, but I think we can hold on for one more year. If we really have to, we can get a guard to replace Connor Williams. But that’s it!! I want a safety in the first round, a LB in the 2nd, a DB in the 3rd, another safety in the 4th, a DE, and so on.

Also a punter and a kicker.

"Cannot hang" means you lose by 20+ points

I agree with you that we wont get far with our defense. However I think severely simply getting into the playoffs. Its a key team building and character building exercise. If teams have the ability to get to the the playoffs, they do whatever they can to get there. And as far as rebuilding the defense, this isnt the NBA where you need a top 5 pick to rebuild anything

We have been in every game and both losses have terrible penalties that were obvious blown calls. Even with the refs we were one play away or a HC decision away from winning these games. We hire MM to correct the coaching and so far he hasn’t done well. He makes adjustments and that’s about it. It’s a new Defense and we will have growing pains.

I suspect we will improve over the season. If we make the playoffs I will be proud and cheer all I can for them.

Losing by 20+ points means you need to tank.
Losing in the fashions we do means we cannot hang, brethren. We make too many mistakes. Again, Dallas is like the child at the adults table. Eyes bigger than their stomachs. They think they can eat off the adult menu (hype), but it's too much for them to handle/eat (execution).

You can give up all you want, I don't think this team is going to give up and I know many fans who will not give up on this team. While it was a disappointing loss and Cowboys made too many mistakes they challenged a very good team in the Seahawks and just came up short despite several critical mistakes.

I agree with you but Dallas has upside.

Seattle is as good as they are going to be.

Dallas still has loads of room to improve but right now they are a sloppy team.

Next few weeks really don't matter I agree. It will be good for stat padding and collecting W's but the whole point of this is to beat good teams and win a Superbowl.

Most around here thought the cowboys were going to get blown out on Sunday, but it came down to the final seconds. Even the rams game came down to the last drive.

I get the record is disappointing, but the cowboys have shown that they can hang with playoff contenders.

Don't forget you have about 5 starters that will hopefully be back in the next few weeks.

I didn't say I was going to give up, I'm just saying that we're losing these contender games that make me lose my hype and preseason thinking of this team. I'm just saying it's possible that they just can't hang with these teams. That doesn't mean they're a complete garbage fire that I'm going to abandom, but, it also means I'm going to refrain from hyping them up and believing we can make a true run down the stretch unless we call up some people to help the secondary.

Browns and Cards should NOT be underestimated.......throw in the mix the DC team which is an away game!

You are talking of tanking and Washington taking the division? Sounds like giving up to me. Cowboys played a tough game, made too many mistakes yet were there in the end with a chance to win the game. Dallas will face other top teams this season and I expect them to get it done. If you don't fine. I don't care if you hype them or not. Seems like a personal issue

The Cowboys will do nothing until they stop being the team that makes tons of errors.

The Cowboys can't beat good teams and also overcome themselves as well.

We have the upside to be really good but we have a sloppy football team. Seattle is sharp.

I’d be fine with losing all our games if it meant real change occurring within the organization. But it won’t.

We’re a miracle win vs. an 0-3 Atlanta team from being 0-3 ourselves. There is no way this team will do anything in the playoffs so a division win will be bittersweet.

In what way didn't they hang with Seattle? They played awful football and had a lead with 4 minutes left in the game lmao.

100%

This is why I say they have upside. I see it but right now Dallas is a stupid stupid football team.

They are playing awful and still hanging with good teams but it's almost a month into this thing and they are still showing no signs of sharpening up.

This team still gets in their own way too much. This is what stops them from taking the next step.

It seems at some point in a game, one of our top 3 WR's will beat someone badly for s big play. And as we saw against Atlanta and LA, they will open opportunities for ancillary recievers like Shultz and Wilson.

I think right they are what makes the team relevant

Its better to peak late than early. I'm not saying we are going to do anything in the playoffs (assuming we make them). However we are 3 games in. We did hang with every team so far. We were winning on the road to the team most consider the 3rd best in the league, with 3 minutes to play. Thats hanging..

A team with a new coaching staff takes time to gel. We see the injuries on the OL yet we are scoring points.
The defense is figuring out the new scheme and the coaches are figuring out the players. We clearly had some serious safety mental mistakes yesterday. Installing a new system while rolling most of your CB's to safety and back during camp didnt help.

Lets see how we feel around week 12 before we start talking doom and gloom.
