Well thank goodness for modern medicine. Not to long ago what would have been career ending. It looked nasty and I sure it felt worse. Get well young man.
I am not sure recovery means he will be the same as he was before the injury. Does it? I think it just means that's how much time it will take to go through the healing process and allow the ligaments and tendons to become string enough to allow him to walk and run and all that. Are they saying he will have the same strength, flexibility and range of motion in his ankle?

If it was a clean break a full recovery should never have been in doubt. I haven't heard - was there something more complicated, like a shattered bone or bones, or torn ligaments and tendons, for example?

Valid point...we can only wait and see. His salary will be greatly reduced next season due to the uncertainty. He’ll probably get a 10 million dollar salary with 10 million in incentives.

I think the fact that its 4 to 6 months lessens the severity of it. Some guys get hurt and don't even come back the next season.

he needs to go on season ending IR to avoid pushing it too soon.

Pretty sure he will since the Super Bowl is only 118 days away. Then again...

This time frame of this injury is going to make for an interesting February.

Dallas will need to decide the future of Prescott before the start of free agency in March.

If you mean how much to pay him, I would think the 2nd tag range would be close.

This from SI Albert Breer

So that’s now. As for what’s ahead, the Cowboys can, and probably will, tag him again next year. Thing is, it’ll cost $37.69 million to do it, in a year in which the cap could fall all the way down to $175 million. And while that might be a nice way to hold his rights and see how his injury is coming along before waving in the Brink’s trunk, it’s important to remember that not doing a deal at that point will almost certainly mean unfettered free agency for Prescott in 2022. That’s because it’d cost the team $54.27 million to tag him at that point.

If they are saying four months I bet Dak is back before the end of the season.
